I want to run, I want to hide, I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside.
Name | Tawnystorm
Gender | She-cat
Age | 34 moons
Rank | Warrior
Clan | FogClan
Beliefs | StarClan is something that is as certain to Tawnystorm as the seasons. Religion has been the air she breathes, the water she drinks ever since day one... which is no surprise since her mother pounded it into her every chance they got. Her fate rests in StarClan's paws. She would do anything is she knew her ancestor's willed it.
I want to reach out and touch the flame, where the streets have no name.
Parents | Smallear [PC-mother], Tigerpelt [NP-deceased father]
Siblings | None [only kit]
Other Kin | Unknown
Mate | None
Crush | None
Kits | None
Apprentice/Mentor | None
Appearance | Tawnystorm has a subtle kind of beauty. Her face isn't anything special. Her nose is a little too small, her whiskers are long, and her mouth is about as average as they come... but her eyes. If someone had bottled up the winter sky and poured it into each eye socket you would have them. They are the only remarkable thing about her. It's amazing how her emotions manage to ooze into her eyes, and onto her face no matter how hard she tries to keep them inside.
Vanity and pride are the only things that keep Tawnystorm looking presentable. She grooms herself in excess. The only cat with softer fur than her would have to be the spokes-cat for Fancy Feast. Her short, tawny fur is covered in beautiful tabby markings.
You could as easily say she has the build of a mouse as you could say she has the build of a cat. Compared to other cats she is tiny. Small and slender has it's upsides though, Tawnystorm is agile and silent even for a clan cat. All of her movements are quick and calculated, while still retaining a graceful quality.
We're beaten and blown by the wind and trampled in dust.
Personality | First impressions aren't Tawnystorm's strong suit. She's been known to come off as rude, patronizing and a know-it-all and that's because she is. Don't get me wrong though she does have some redeeming qualities... if you actually give her a chance you'll realize that, though very few cats do.
When you live in a clan you have to look out for your clan but Tawnystorm also knows she has to look out for herself. Every other cat is her competition and it is her job to beat them in order to secure her place in the clan and her mother's heart. Those who know her well enough could tell you that she hasn't always been that way, most cats credit her competitive attitude to her mother.
Jokes and fun are as foreign to Tawnystorm as the clans are to a kitty-pet. Ever since she was six moons old she's been focused on being perfect and in the process she seems to have forgotten how to have fun. Besides what most cats think is fun she thinks is stupid. As far as she's concerned the only cats that should act like kits are kits.
It seems that all the manners that her father taught her have disappeared since he died. You'll never hear her sugarcoat anything. If her words are coated in anything it is sarcasm. She's been known to catch an attitude when another cat says something especially dumb or when dealing with someone she feels in below her.
Despite her know-it-all personality Tawnystorm has some good traits. She is probably the hardest working cat you will ever meet and ambitious too. She wants nothing more than to be clan leader one day so maybe then she can make her mother proud and prove she's worth something than a mouse whisker.
Compared to other cats she's a loner. Tawnystorm doesn't have many friends even in her own clan but if you get to know her she'll be eternally loyal. As far as she's concerned friends are like family, and she always puts her family before herself. Get to know Tawnystorm and you'll be rewarded with someone who'd do just about anything for you.
Underneath her bad manners, and general bad attitude man cats are surprised to find that she has strong morals. She has a strong sense of right and wrong and would never to something against her beliefs. Anyone who tries to get her to do something she feels is wrong better be prepared for a thorough verbal lashing, not only is it wrong but you even thinking Tawnystorm would do something wrong is insulting and she doesn't take being insulted very kindly.
Its rare but from time to time Tawnystorm has actually been known to be kind because in all truth underneath all the bad stuff there is a good cat. As an apprentice and kit that nice, charming cat shined through all the time but shortly after she became a warrior and the death of her father that cat seemed to disappear into the emotional shell Tawnystorm hides in. While not many cats seem to be able to coax that nice cat out again those that do will be pleasantly surprised.
Her mother's overbearing presence and impossible standards coupled with the traumatic event of her father's death have left this she-cat with some emotional baggage. She is sure to hide behind a tough front so she won't get hurt but more often than not it just leaves Tawnystorm lonely and unsatisfied with life. No one seems to understand her and she isn't one to try and explain herself... even if she wanted to she couldn't because she doesn't really know who she is anymore.
Tawnystorm is the kind of cat who craves attention and relationships but is known to push others away. Her constant training even into her warrior hood and patrolling leave little time for fun and relaxation. Both of these things leave her ultimately disappointed with life and somewhat depressed. All she really wants is a friend and it seems she can't have one.
Skills | Stalking and speed are right up this small cat's alley. Both of these skills make her an excellent hunter. While hunting is her strong suit, fighting... not so much. Due to her small size she has a harder time fighting larger cats and often has to team up with her other clan mates in a fight.
Despite her poor personality Tawnystorm makes a surprisingly a good leader, which is probably due more or less to her ambition and intelligence. Along with her leadership skills she is good at debating.
Our love turns to rust.
History | Tawnystorm was born only moons after Miststar introduced physical punishment into FogClan. She grew up in fear of being punished and made sure to do everything to avoid it. She was the ideal kit. Her parents did everything they could to make their only kit the ideal clan cat. While Smallear seemed to be more into teaching her daughter the religious side of clan-life, her mate Tigerpelt was more into teaching his daughter the warrior code and just about anything that wasn't religion.
As an apprentice it became quite clear that she excelled in hunting and stalking, while she lacked in fighting. Towards the end of her apprenticeship Tawnystorm, then Tawnypaw was invited to the Gathering. You could only imagine her surprise when she got there. One of her clan mates Firestorm and a PineClan cat Rainpaw started a fight. For a cat who followed the rules so strictly she was appalled. Needless to say her first gathering was one that Tawnystorm would never forget.
It was days after the Gathering that Tawnystorm was made a warrior, the suffix of her name representing her personality and power. Her warrior ceremony was easily the happiest day of her life and she gladly sat her vigil. For a moon or so she was in complete bliss going out on border patrols and hunting patrols. Then her father died.
The beatings had been getting more and more intense since they started. Tigerpelt's respect for Miststar fell out the window shortly after the beatings started. He didn't try to mask his dislike of what was happening. He made it clear he believed in StarClan but not Miststar and wasn't afraid to challenge her. He had been a victim of beatings before but the last one he got wasn't anything like the others. Maybe it was an accident or maybe Miststar was just tired of putting up with him. While he'd survived them in the past this time the wounds were worse and he ended up bleeding to death.
While Tawnystorm who didn't have a problem with the beatings since she had never known anything different... but her father dying from them that was just too much. Smallear assured her daughter that her father had known what he was doing, that he'd brought it on himself and told her to keep any anger she had to herself. Her parents had grown apart shortly after she was apprenticed due to their conflicting opinions; and while Tawnystorm tried to assure herself that her mom really was just looking out for her she also felt that her mom thought Tigerpelt deserved it.
Doing as her mother told her Tawnystorm learned to repress her anger, and all her other emotions with it. She was sure to keep herself guarded and not let anyone in... besides personal relationships were just too much work. She needed to focus on being a good clan mate and she did.
Miststar's sudden disappearance did surprise her. Volepelt claimed she was on a mission given by StarClan, and with no other information Tawnystorm was forced to believe him. Personally she's made no comment preferring to wait it out like her mother would want her to do. Never choose a side until you know it's the right one. In the mean time Tawnystorm is just doing her best to be the best.
When I go there I go there with you, it's all I can do.
