As the young deputy listened more on the story, the more 2 and 2 seemed to make four. It was slowly unfolding like a butterflies wings for the first time, making sense yet becoming beautiful. Slowly, cats names were said and she recognised them. Owlstar, she had heard of her. She understood more and more until eventually it seemed realistic and like she was walking the footsteps of a true forest clan.
Suddenly, electric struck her. Well, what felt like electric. It was actually her reality and realization. Understanding the story completely, the young she-cat was going to have to take over in her leaders footsteps and guide the clan like he had. He was so brave to lead the cats here, having made right and intellectual decisions. A cold shiver brushed down her spine.
What if the clan cats feel they cannot rely on her like they can her leader. The divide in which might happen could once again happen when she is a 'star.
Yet, she knew to be a better warrior and deputy. Her leader had told her the story of Pineclan, loss filling his tone as he reached the end of his story. To make her leader proud and her deceased mentor, she would do everything in her path to carry on the clans life, but something stung her heart. Love, she loved Cedarstar as a leader and a close friend. IN her eyes he was one. Yet, perhaps it was time to have a mate who she could support yet at the same time be supported.
Sadness flicked through her eyes just to disperse once after. "Cedarstar, you've been through so much." She finally mewed, her soft and calm yet mature voice sounding assertive and gentle. "I admire your decisions and I'm so glad you lead it so close to my old home. I'm so glad to be a part of Meadowclan and serve my purpose as a warrior and as a deputy. You've made brave decisions, wise ones too. I'll be honoured to do so in the future, learning more from you and able to carry this clan on like you have. I don't think I've ever said this before, but It's time for me to be more courageous. I might be younger and not as experienced as many of the senior warriors and you, but you're a really close friend to me as well as the leader of the clan. Never again am I going to let you down." tucking her tail neatly between her legs, she lowered her head and twitched her ears. She just realized how silly she sounded, but it had to be said.
