this was originally for glowy to take a look at, but other interested people are free to look, too. not anything all that interesting, though. .A.
♠ So, Choice. Where to start?
Originally Choice was to stay as a normal game, without any real competition or people getting hurt involved. After a challenge from someone, we decided to change that (but we tweaked with the rules a little to make it a little more safer).
♥
To begin Choice, you obviously need two teams to go against each other. There has to be at least six members in the team (though these tend to be two teams that were made before the competition was suggested) in order to play. Ten days (or however days you'd like) in advance, the Choice game is announced. Those ten days are spent planning and training (...usually).
During this time, they have to come up with a plan for their base. At this point, the teams have no idea of the location. Their base has to be able to be constructed within a day (otherwise, you'll be stuck with a half-completed base at the start of the game). They need to gather their materials before the ten days are up. On the ninth day, the teams meet up at a decided area where the location is decided. It is decided by either a roulette or through 'Choice' cards (more often the cards for our games). One person spins the roulette/picks the card (mainly the leader from either of the teams).
After it's decided, the teams can either start building their bases that day or wait for the day of the game. On the tenth day, they all meet at the designated location, where the members competing are decided. This is decided by way of roulette. The way it works is a bit complicated, but let's just say that the members are sorted into groups. The roulette chooses both the number and the group. If you got a '3' and then 'groupnamehere', you would have three of the groupnamehere's competing. :3 Once all the members are decided (it tends to be from four to six competing from each team - the numbers aren't always the same [it could easily be four against six]), a target is chosen. This target holds a single feather or scarf (depends on the weather and what might or might not blow away). The goal'll be described in a minute.
The target is decided by the roulette yet again. It is only decided by group this time as there is only one target. If there is more than one competing member in that group, it is decided by matches (how original, right? ;D) or some other form of decision-making.
The whole reason for the feather and the target is because the opposite team must gain the feather from the target (no, they're not just given it) and give it back to the judge who will blow a whistle to signal everyone to stop.
Those who aren't taking part have places for them to view the game from (two separate sections for each team). No communicating is allowed between the competitors and the viewers after the game begins. Any conversing will result in an immediate disqualification.
While the game goes, any amount of force can be used, so long as it isn't in the face (accidents do happen, though) and so long as it isn't done with an intent to kill / break bones (...intentionally, anyway). They can ambush, they can attack, they can do whatever. Plans tend to be made in the thirty minutes that are allowed for the teams to prepare before the game starts.
The target tends to stay in the base that was created by the team, though this occassionally isn't the case. To get the feather, it really is about teamwork. If one team member who has gotten the other team's feather gets ambushed, the only things that can happen is that another team member distracts those ambushing the one with the feather so that they can run to the judge or the feather can be passed to another team member.
Before the game starts, the feather is placed somewhere on the target's body and everyone is told the location. The feather then cannot be moved after placement. Only the target of that team can touch the feather. No other member of that team can touch the feather (that means that they can't steal it back).
The winners may choose something to take from the other team (if given as a choice, team members, as well [terrible, I know xD]).
And...that's basically the gist of it. :]
