Beliefs - These dead cats who call themselves
"Starclan" mean something to her, that's for sure.
While they have only been there for her once, Rainspots
is almost completely sure they exist. With every day
in Meadowclan becoming an internal war, Starclan
send them help, because they truly need it. Around
her, she sees cats who believe that Starclan won't
send help, but she sees differently. Rain
knows they'll help save their clan. Eventually.
After all, she is going to be leader one day, right?
This means Starclan would be forced to show
themselves to her. One day, she'll have all the
proof she needs to truly believe.

Appearance-
Rain is a glossy, gray she-cat. Her pelt
shines underneath the moon, resembling a silver coin.
The round, oval pools that are her eyes are a holly green
with sparkles of white in them. Upon closer inspection,
you will find three ovals of white on her right thigh, although
they are small and hard to detect. Her pads are gray,
along with her nose. There is a strip of white that
starts on the tip of her left forepaw and ends on the
base of her shoulder. It is a strange marking, but
it makes her recognizable. Although her pelt glimmers,
it is never clean, as she hates water. Her large ears
are sometimes made fun of, but they provide a
huge advantage when hunting.
She never considered herself to be a "beautiful" cat.
In fact, Rainspots is insecure, and sees herself as ugly.
Rain tries to hide the fact that she hates her image, but
it can be difficult to not beat on herself.
-----------------
Personality -
Rainspots is a truth-seeker of sorts. She only
does what she can with what she has. Being wise,
she usually doesn't go looking for trouble, let alone
starting it. However, this sometimes appears weak
in the eyes of other cats, and that boils her blood.
Ever since she was a kit, she hated to be called
weak and underestimated by her own clan mates.
Other than that, it is easy to get on her good side.
She normally doesn't have trouble accepting other
cats, whether they are a rogue, loner, kitty pet,
or even Forestclan born like her, just don't take
advantage of that. She hates being used, and it
has happened more than once in her lifetime.
Rain believes that every cat should be equal,
and wishes that the cats of her clan could just get along.
She doesn't usually snap at other cats. In fact, she is
usually softer when talking to younger cats, for she
knows they still have much to learn. Rain never
judges cats based on their skills, looks, personality,
or even clan. This is another reason that some cats
may see her as weak; her inability to judge others.
If you were to describe her in a nutshell, you could
come up with many words to describe her. She doesn't
have a sense of humor, so don't try to joke with her.
She's serious, and she means business. However,
she can be tricked easily due to opening up too quickly.
-----------------
Skills -
Her muscles ripple underneath her black pelt,
making her excellent at fighting. Thinking fast
on her paws is what helped her survive, and it
served her well. With her spare time, Rainspots
creates new battle techniques. In a way, it's an
odd hobby of hers. Her sturdy body, however,
makes it slightly more difficult to catch prey,
but only by a hair. She manages to be silent,
and her dark pelt makes night hunting easy.
One of her only disadvantages is swimming.
The waves that cling to the floor just sends
shivers up her spine.
-----------------
History -
It was cold and damp. That's really all she could
remember. The rain that poured from the sky
foreshadowed almost her entire life, from kit hood
to warrior age. Her mother was already dead at her
side, and no matter how hard she suckled, there
was no milk. Only the ominous stench of death,
and the stingy smell of wet fur and birthing fluid.
Unable to open her eyes, the big-eared kit wandered
helplessly, pawing at everything that was within
reach. A piercing scream overcame her sensitive
ears.
"No!" She remembered her screamed, "No, Nightpelt!"
His cries turned into sobs as he buried his muzzle into
the dead cat's fur. He then turned to the helpless kit
and licked her furiously, determined to warm the
half-frozen kit. Looking over her dark fur, she
squealed as he picked her up by his maw and padded
away from the scene. He dropped her off at the camp,
and she heard astonishing gasps from other cats.
"Her name is Rainkit." She remembered them saying.
__________
Growing up with only her father was difficult, but Rainkit
managed. She was nursed by a close friend of her mother's,
who said she would be honored to raise the kit. Icestream
promised her he would stay with her. He swore. He lied.
It was probably only 4 Moons after her birth. Rainkit
was playing around with her foster siblings in a game of tag.
The smell of blood stuffed her nose suddenly, as she saw
a group of cats walking towards the center of the camp, their
pelts stained red.
"What the hell happened?" She remembered one of the cats
growling. One of them collapsed to the ground, muttering
something incoherent. After about a minute, his heartbeat
had slowed down enough for him to form two sentences.
"Attacked... by loners. Icestream is dead." While
Rainkit may have not understood what a loner was,
she knew that her father was gone. And she was now
all alone.
__________
By the time she was apprentice age, she had learned that
a few cats left the clan. Her foster mother told her that they
were going to live their life as loners, but she didn't believe a
word she said. Rainpaw decided she would learn where the
cats were going, and snuck out of Forestclan camp the next night.
Her journey took her to the outer regions of Forestclan's
territory. Frightened at almost every sound, she hid inside a
dark cave for almost a week, picking out small rodents as
prey. Curse her decision. She was going to lose them if she
stayed any longer! Knowing this, she headed of in the
general direction of the cats.
__________
Finally leaving Forestclan territory and heading who-knows-
where, Rainpaw happened upon a large stream filled to the
rim with fish. It was an excellent spot to stop and rest, so she
took the opportunityand feasted. Although they were quite hard
to catch, they tasted delicious.
However, she was being watched. She was suddenly ambushed
by a group of cats and was held hostage for awhile. Terrified but
brave, she spat at them to let her go. When they came to the
realization that she was Forestclan born, they allowed her to join
them. Finally! She had caught up to them! Her months of traveling
had paid off.
Once they reached their destination, the cats were branched off into
four different clans, and Rainpaw was finally given her warrior
name, Rainspots. And when the time came to pick a deputy, she
was happy for Rabbitstep's promotion. But only after awhile when he
went missing, a new deputy was to be named. She almost had a
heart-attack when her name was called out. To be honest, Rain
isn't sure why she was chosen. Maybe it was because of her
determination to follow them? Either way, she promised to serve
her clan greatly, and only wishes her father could have been
there to see her.
-----------------
Roleplay Sample -
Rainspots was asked to go out on a patrol that
morning. She thought it would be easy, a practice
session of sorts. Maybe even catch a few prey along
the way. The thought of something going wrong never
dawned on her. But it was just a simple patrol, right?
__________
Her emerald eyes grazed over a cat standing at the entrance.
It was Cedarstar.
Although it was all still slightly hazy, she could make out
a few words here and there. When he finished speaking,
she realized he had just asked her to go on a quick patrol.
Without a word, she nodded and stepped outside, and expected
to be almost blinded by the sun rays above. Instead, she was
greeted by moonlight. Just how early was it?
Most warriors were still asleep, she realized as she was pulling
out of the camp, but she wondered why the leader asked her
to go out on a patrol this early. Shrugging it off, she left
the camp and started around the borders first.
__________
She gasped as a shooting pain came over her spine.
Flipping around, she landed neatly on her paws and
twirled around to face her attacker. A lone badger, far
away from its den. Leaping into action, she dodged
around its attack and clawed at its face. It yowled in
pain and blindly swiped at her, missing entirely.
Rainspots was about to attack when her legs gave
out from under her. She had slipped down a ledge and
was now falling to her doom.
Rainspots landed twisted on her back. Groaning, she
shook off the dust that clung to her fur and looked around her.
Sniffing the air, she realized that she was now on Pineclan territory.
Perfect.
She had to get out of there, now! It wouldn't be wise to do
anything stupid, like invade Pineclan or try to steal their prey.
It wasn't worth it with her condition.
Looking around, she spotted a nice slide for her to climb back
up. Carefully maneuvering her way up, she realized that the badger
was bleeding badly, and a trail led all the way back... to camp!
__________
Rain dashed into the camp, warning everyone about the badger,
but she was too late. The badger was already at the center,
terrorizing an apprentice near the fresh-kill pile. Growling, she
leaped up onto its back, yowling in its ear, "You will not hurt my
clan!" Snapping her jaws on its neck, it wiggled in pain before
collapsing to the ground, with cats staring at her in amazement.
The only cat's stare that mattered was her leader's.
