Hawkstorm shrugged, nonplussed. "Newly apprenticed to me anyway." She hadn't really known Silverpaw before she'd become a mentor to her, and she couldn't say she knew her now. Probably should change that....and she did seem a little big now that Hawkstorm studied her. Ah well. There were new pineclan apprentices, anyway.
"Gingerstar?" The question seemed strange. What interest would meadowclan have in Gingerstar? "She's fine. As strong a pillar for her clan as ever, despite wwhatFogclanners may mutter." Her eyes narrowed. "But of course, I suppose some find it hard to believe that she and her clan are well. Or perhaps they don't want to..." she trailed off. "How is Cedarstar?"
Did she care? No. And if he wasn't well, sparrowclaw would just lie, just as Hawkstorm would have lied had Gingerstar not been well.
"Doing well under the pressures of being the almighty savior of the clans I hope." [/blockquote]

[bg=e9e8e3][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true]Silverpaw was listening to the conversation, nodding her head at the discussion Hawkstorm had said, when suddenly "Who is gingerstar?" her ears twitched, widening her crystal blue eyes. “Gingerstar? You've been alive for how many moons? You've never heard of Gingerstar? She's our clan leader, the best clan leader possible too.” Her head turned to the side, pinning her ears to her head and puffing her chest out.
She couldn't stay mad though, she wasn't mad in the first place; just surprised. “Gingerstar is perfectly healthy and strong warrior and leader, you have a lot to learn little apprentice. A lot!” Calming down slowly, she shook her head and licked her white paw, cuffing her ear after. “Your first gathering, you better be careful. The warriors are big and scary and very frightening, believe me.” She neatly wrapped her tail around her forepaws and closed her eyes and shook her head slowly.

"You... you've been to a gathering already? Lucky!" Shadepaw was intensely jealous of the other apprentice, as he'd only just been recently apprenticed. He knew, every time Cedarstar chose the other Meadowclanners to go to the gathering, it was getting closer and closer to his turn, but still, he couldn't help but get annoyed occasionally when all the other apprentices were chosen to go but him.
He turned instead to Hawkstorm, and gently said: "Were you raised not to believe in Starclan then?" He didn't expect a reply, so wouldn't be disappointed if he didn't get one.

Hawkstorm tilted her head. "Raised not to be?" Oh! He must have assumed she had been born in pineclan. The warrior could not deny that pineclanners made no attempt whatsoever to teach their children about "starclan's glory" as some would call it, nor could she say they did not mock believers amongst themselves from time to time. However, as far as her own upbringing went, starclan hadn't even been an issue.
"I wasn't raised not t'believe in starclan, just without it. I'm not from here." She smirked. "Papa talked about a God, but for the most part we were more worried about snakes, gators, and family than anything else. I mean, I had some religion, but it was mostly just prayin' fer safety."
"You got t'understand though, that's kinda how it is in 'Pine. There's some that raise their kits not to believe, and that's their right. But mostly we just go on without starclan. Just focus on family, the code, predator, and prey."

Sparrowclaw, having listened to the conversation as it lasted rolled her green eyes and sat up more straight. "Elkstep, it's rather nice to see you're quiet for once." She held back a teasing laugh and then looked towards Hawkstorm. The civilised appearance to her struck once again.
"My dear Silverpaw, there is no need to scare my apprentice into thinking gatherings are big and intimidating. In all truth, they're really not that bad." she rasped her tongue over the pad of her paw and swiped her ear, watching the young pineclan apprentice. "Oh my dear apprentice, Shadepaw. Not all pineclan cats are raised to not believe in Starclan. Some cats join the clan like it and others would be raised under the tales against starclan and then have traumatic experiences happen to them, causing them to believe the tales." she nudged into her apprentice softly, before shifting her jade green gaze towards Hawkstorm. "Am I right?"
