STAFF The Staff at FoF are what keep things running smoothly and without a hitch. Very much a part of life here, they work behind the scenes to make sure FoF is an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Admins A sort of umbrella role, admins do anything from working out the rules to checking and accepting bios.
Rolo Pyro
Moderators Moderators, no less important than admins, take care of rosters, check bios, and make sure everything is ship-shape in the threads.
Glowy
Bio-checkers Bio-checkers have the very necessary job of checking and accepting bios. (They have power only in the applications area.)
Amber
FoF Secretaries FoF secretaries have the job of updating the rosters, keeping track of FoF members and their cats and generally helping the admins keep in the loop with what is going on. People with this role have no authority over other members, but can be asked questions if staff are not around.
Cloudie
(thanks to rolo for piling this together)

KARMA Some sites have a shop system where certain amounts of "money" get you special things for your characters. Here at FoF, we have the philosophy that a character should not be bought but earned. Therefore, instead of having a shop, we go more on an 'You show us what you'll do with -enter attribute here- and we might give it to you' system. Fancy something outside the norm? Ask the admins on the plot threads and we'll see what we can do
Please be aware that these requests must be realistic and not just a novelty. We will never allow genetic impossibilities or powers.
However, there are some exceptions. In some cases, there are elements that are realistic in characters, but they wouldn't occur much in the wild. Therefore, if you want one of these elements to use in your character, we will require a little more effort from you.
Karma is earned by being exalted by a member for something they liked (an rp post, a good discussion point) or may be given out for winning a contest or becoming OTM. Karma, as well as giving you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, can be used to apply for cats that you'd not usually see in the wild. However, applying for them does not mean that you will get them. We need to ensure you are using the element respectfully and creatively to ensure only the best characters get made using these sought after things.
You will not have to trade in the karma if you do manage to get one of these! You can only have one of each anyway XD
Elements that require you to use the rankings form: We need to see a little bit of extra input for cats with these elements. Therefore, you should use the form for Rankings and place it in the normal biography area. Please talk to the staff before applying.
15 Karma -- Homosexual Cat (as well as the karma you must prove you're an active, responsible member of this site's who is willing to understand that the concept may not be taken well by all members.)
15 Karma -- Transsexual/Transgender Cat (as well as the karma you must prove you're an active, responsible member of this site's who is willing to understand that the concept may not be taken well by all members.)
20 Karma -- Six - Eight-toed cats (This is a genetic mutation caused by inbreeding. The RP sample should reflect how they feel about their deformity and how you it effects their life, directly or indirectly)
20 Karma -- Cats with no ears (This is a genetic deformity caused by inbreeding. This is not earlessness caused by injury. The rp sample should reflect how they feel about the deformity, hinders their life and how others react to it, directly or indirectly)
Elements that do not require a Rankings form when applying: Please talk to the staff before applying.
20 Karma -- Purple Eyes (We're more lax on these, but we need to make sure there aren't too many running about)
Other 20 Karma -- Extra Cat spot
We will add more when we think of them

ENGLISH AT FOF To be 'Literate', in roleplay terms, is to be able to use grammar and be able to spell correctly. However, being able to form coherent sentences and using varied language is also very important.
Here at FoF, we encourage literacy as much as possible. However, unlike some sites, this encouragement does not mean alienation to anyone who are 'below our standards'. Why? We do not preach literacy as a label and do not only want those of advanced standards, we want to try to help each individual's writing styles blossom. Whether this be through help with grammar and spelling or help with characterization, we will always try to help you improve through constructive criticism. However, don't be scared, we won't do this bluntly or frequently in rps and we will simply let you improve yourself with time.
So, don't you worry We won't allow mini-modding or insults over literacy, and we won't tell you off for not having a perfect post. The only time when we will point out something is when you are powerplaying, godmoding or inter-rping too much.
We also acknowledge some here will not have a English as their first language and give them special consideration when it comes to their rp posts and bios. We ask you not to be too judgmental of them and allow them to learn how to form the language better purely by reading and writing more english. Remember, they are probably trying their best! If you yourself do not have english as a first language, feel free to tell us and specify how much 'help' you want. If you DO want mistakes pointed out, tell us and we will try to help you ^^.
