Name | Elsie Antheart || don't wear it out
Gender | she-cat || honey, do I look like a tom to you?
Age | 46 moons || still capable of whooping tail
Rank | queen || hardest job I've ever loved
Clan | Stream || I'm a water gal
Beliefs | Antheart...you just can't make her care that much about StarClan. She doesn't necessarily believe or disbelieve. What she doesn't like is cats getting worked up about it.
"I've seen a lot of faith and a lot of faithlessness in my life, and I honestly can't tell you which one I think is stronger."
Whatever you believe, fine, she may not agree but neither will she fight you over it. Live and let live. What annoys her is the extremists on either side, FogClan and PineClan alike. FogClan? Bunch of bedazzled, pompous idiots. PineClan? Bunch of arrogant upstarts who think they're better than everyone else.
Oh, she knows perfectly well she's stereotyping. Good luck changing her mind, though.
Parents | Matari - mother - NP Auriga - father - NP
Siblings | Shilo - brother - NP Simera - sister - NP
Other Kin | None
Mate | Redstream - NP
Crush | not yet
Kits | Beetle - son - NP Gorsekit - foster daughter (played by Rosie)
Apprentice/Mentor | not yet
Appearance | Antheart considers herself beautiful inside and out, screw how you'll describe her. Simply put, however, she's a long-furred, heavily built black she-cat whose pelt is usually muddy or dripping as befits a StreamClanner. Her eyes are golden, mellow but observant, almost ceaselessly watching both Gorsekit and the life of her Clan. Her long white whiskers are often twitching in amusement or exasperation, and her small, rounded ears are usually listening for something.
Personality | Antheart is a cat of contradictions. She's strict on herself and others, yet remarkably free-thinking and willing to listen to strange ideas and stories as long as there's some element of sense behind them. She's proud, yet respectful of others' opinions.
She has her ugly side, too - she can be remarkably cold to those who complain even justifiably about something or watch someone being tormented without lifting a paw because it's not her business.
In general, though, she's pleasant enough with a laid-back demeanor despite her pride and the occasional sarcastic comment. It takes a lot to faze Antheart, and I very much doubt whatever you're worked up about is going to be it. If she doesn't care she takes no pains to mask it and just moves on with life.
If she does care, however, hoo boy. She will be utterly focused on whatever it is, be it hunting, fighting, or someone she cares about. Her concentration burns out after a while, but while it lasts it is intense.
"I didn't get the suffix -heart for nothing, people."
She goes through her moods, but is generally passive, passive-aggressive when she's mildly annoyed or just grumpy and only gets severely pissed if you overstep your boundaries, show serious disrespect, or act like things are black and white.
Cause momma Antheart's going to teach you otherwise.
And hell is she a momma. She wasn't ever exactly a she-cat who dreamed of having kits and a loving mate growing up, and she's about as sensitive as a rock most of the time, but when it comes to her children...well, she's still pretty strict, but fair.
"If you can explain to me WHY I should let you cover yourself in mud, go ahead."
She makes her babies think, that's for sure. You don't grow to apprenticehood under her care without developing some serious gray matter in the process. She's protective, but at the same time she also believes in letting her kits experience the world - with her there to keep an eye on them, of course.
Antheart even has her lonely, whimsical times when all she wants to do is wander the territory at night and wonder about all the places and cats from her past and how they are.
Especially her son and (former?) mate.
Skills | Like most StreamClanners, she's a decent swimmer. Not the best, but good enough to keep up in the aquatic-based Clan.
Her fighting, well...she'd like to think she's pretty good, but the truth is she mostly goes by instinct and most of her fights in the old days were won by surprise and her knowledge of the (urban) environment.
So she's really not all that great by warrior standards though she can hold her own for at least a while - what she lacks in skill she somewhat makes up in endurance.
Tracking, meh. She can find something - if its tracks are pretty noticeable, it's not too damp, and she has to. In other words, not so great at it.
Surprisingly for a StreamClanner, she's a pretty decent climber and is best at catching bird prey - the rest of her hunting is so-so.
History | New York City is a tough place with tougher folk. Or at least that's how they like to tell it.
Elsie was born a kittypet in a run-of-the mill apartment. However, her cushy life of soft bedding and toys only lasted until she was 7 months old. Her owner, having lost his job and unable to either keep or find homes for his cats (unwilling to consign them to a shelter), reluctantly released them in New York Central park.
