Hello Training, day2 [SparrowxShade]

It was a new morning, she was up earlier than usual to plan out ahead their day. She promised him hunting training, but she had to figure out where to train.

She knew where, looking around and then stretched. Eventually, the sun was rising quickly and lashed her tail. Time to wake him up. Heading into the apprentice den, being careful where to tread she crept quietly towards the scent of her apprentice. Nuzzling into his neck softly she pawed him. "Shadepaw, awaken." she leant back and sat up slightly. "It's morning, time for day 2. Prepare for aching bones and a lot of failing." with that, she turned around and left the den.

Standing outside, she awaited her apprentices arrival. They were going to be out the whole day, so eating prey before they went would be best otherwise the hunger will get too powerful and they'd lose concentration, but sooner or latter when the harsh weather of leaf-fall and leafbare came, she would have to train him how to train through hunger.

Shadepaw woke quickly, shaking the sleepiness slowly out of his limbs. Then he realised. He was going hunting training! All thoughts of sleep forgotten, he delicately got up from his nest (well as delicately as a cat who was incredibly excited could) and picked his way through the den.

Once outside, he tried to track his mentor, who was waiting outside. Silently he stalked, using all he remembered from yesterday's session, until he was right behind her. When he judged the moment to be right, he leapt, and managed to land securely on her back, where he hung on with claws sheathed.

"Got you! Betcha weren't expecting me to pick it up that quickly, huh?"

Sparrowclaw held back a yowl in surprise after hearing her apprentices tackle. Quickly, she smirked. He wanted to be cunning, she'll show him. Since his claws were sheathed, she bucked her hind legs and kicked him off her back, swirling around and tackling him to the ground.

Turning, she walked past him to head to the fresh kill pile. "Here we go, take some fresh-kill before we go training." she meowed, twitching her ears and watching him. She shoved the whole I tackled you, haha to the back of her head and then picked a mouse to chuck towards him. No food too big for training, would be too full to even move otherwise.

"Eat this mouse and lets prepare to go." she cuffed her ear with her paw and yawned, taking hold of a vole herself and ate it in a few bites. Licking her blood stained fawn brown and white lips after.

Shadepaw felt all the air rush from him as the she-cat tackled him to the ground, but he wasn't angry: In fact he was rather impressed by the whole thing. "Sparrowclaw, you HAVE to teach me how to do that, that was amazing!"

He quickly did as his mentor suggested, swallowing the mouse down in just a few short bites. It was gone too quickly; but he knew that if he ate too much, he'd be in no mood and have no inclination to train: better he eat just the right amount, and be in a good mood, then be too full and miserable.

"Right, I'm ready, where are we going and what are we doing?"

Sparrowclaw shrugged. "Just a survival attempt. You'll learn when you're older, it's honestly not easy to learn and it only works if a smaller cat has attacked you, hence why I was able to throw you off. Lets get going, then." she walked out of camp, making sure the apprentice was following her.

When they were both out of camp, she turned her head around slightly so she was peering around. So, shadepaw. Give us a place to go and use your nose. Follow your nose." she was reciting what she was told back when she was a kittypet, a strange dream one night that echoed through her mind.

Shadepaw was baffled at this instruction, but he didn't let it show. Follow my nose? Umm, okay then? In his head, he processed her instruction, trying to figure out the best way of going about it, and then he realised: he was over complicating things. He needed to do exactly what she said, and follow his nose.

He sniffed the air, mouth partly open, and his senses picked on the rapid heartbeat and smell of a mouse, far away in a meadow. He cast his senses closer to where he was currently standing, and found a rabbit that lived only across the way.

Silently, he began to stalk the creature, signalling to his mentor to follow.
