Beliefs | Duckpaw isn't too sure about StarClan at all. They don't help him win fights, they don't help him hunt better, and they sure don't help him deal with his weirdo sisters. If they're there at all, he thinks they're pretty useless, and isn't particularly reverent or respectful of them. He doesn't think about them often, so he isn't too certain just yet, but all signs point to non-believer.

Appearance | Duckpaw is a dark reddish-gray tabby with black stripes. He has a few thick, distinct stripes on his face that accentuate his angular face very well. He has narrow yellowish-green eyes that seem to be in a perpetual hunt for something. He is of average size for his age, but is already showing a lot of muscle growth, which he fosters by constantly hunting and practicing fighting moves. His tail is long and smooth, which helps him keep balance when he fights. He has awkwardly large paws that indicate he still has some growing up to do. His claws are a bit shorter than average, but the force he uses to strike makes up for it.
Personality | If three words could be used to describe Duckpaw, they would be "impulse control problems." Duckpaw never thinks, he simply acts based on how he feels in that moment. If someone's bothering him, he won't hesitate in telling them to sod off. He's very awkward in giving praise as well, because he is incredibly blunt. Compliments often sound like back-handed insults when he gives them. Despite that, he's actually not too hard to like once you get to know him. He's a loyal friend and good at cheering cats up, often by telling them they can spar to ward off the sadness or anger. As such, he's not very good at letting himself feel those things, and often hunts or spars with other cats instead of talking about his problems.
He also isn't very good at rule-following, which sets him back in his training more often than not. He tends to follow even the strictest orders as guidelines, and isn't afraid to break them if they don't suit his needs or feelings. If he sees a mouse close to the border, he'll go after it and kill it, and doesn't care if it was on his side or their side first. If he's told not to use his claws in training, he'll find a way to sneak them out, just to see what he can do with them. If he's told not to swim in a certain place, he'll take "just a quick dip." He's a huge pawful for his mentor.
Despite that, he's willing to learn and he takes his training very seriously. He'll practice a move or technique he's been taught over and over again, even when he should be sleeping. Duckpaw never seems to run out of energy, which is both a blessing and a curse. While he is very studious and wants to be the very best warrior imaginable, he must learn how to follow orders. Being a warrior isn't about fighting and hunting, he knows that, but he can't help but think if he focuses on that first, the rest of it will come more easily.
Skills | Duckpaw is still early in his training but shows the makings of an excellent, enthusiastic fighter - perhaps a bit too enthusiastic at times. He's also got the makings of a good hunter. Even if he doesn't quite "get" a technique right away, he won't stop until he's perfected it. He'll never be the best at it, but he'll do better than expected. He's also a very strong swimmer for his age, which can be attributed to his muscle, his boundless energy, and his iron will. However, he's not good at rule-following, which can turn all of these against him if he's not careful.
History | As a kit, Duckpaw was assured he was the biggest of the bunch. He would always push his sisters away so he could get the best spot on Hazelfoot's belly at mealtime. He would constantly hit, scratch, and bite his sisters, which resulted in a lot of scolding from his parents. "Beating up on your sisters, Duckkit? For shame! Only cowards hit those weaker than them," was the usual speech. To satisfy them, he started to play with the older kits, trying to prove to them how tough he was. This didn't work out as well as he planned since the older kits didn't play nice. He was constantly in and out of the den with scratches, bites, twisted limbs, and on one occasion, a broken paw. It healed well, though to this day he favors his right paw over his left.
Duckpaw, after his paw healed, asked his father why nobody respected him. From Ashface's stories, which Duckpaw memorized verbatim, being a brave warrior was about fighting. Ashface, having grown up outside StreamClan, told his son he wasn't certain what warriorship was really all about, but that if he worked hard, he could start winning more fights than losing, and then he would be respected. Duckpaw idolized his father and took those words as gospel. He would constantly fight to be the center of his father's attention, trying to make him proud.
Unfortunately, it seemed that no matter what Duckpaw did, his annoying sister Maplepaw always managed to out-obnoxious him and turn their parents attention on her. He resents her for this and avoids talking to her as much as possible, preferring the company of his quiet sister Fawnpaw. He has dedicated his life to being the best hunter and fighter possible, and while those are good traits, he is also constantly breaking rules in his quest to be the very best warrior.
