It may of been self-centered but Tawnystorm liked Tawnywhisker simply because of her name, more accurately the first half. Well it wasn't even the name it was just that the name reminded her of herself. I suppose there's a little Tawny in everyone. LOVELY. Her eyes were locked on the other she-cat as she thought romantic thoughts about everybody being a little part of everyone else. It didn't ever occur to her she'd been looking a little too long. You'd think someone who has recently had a nasty run-in with some thorns would learn to look where they were going.
It was hard to look at Tawnywhisker in her entirety. She could focus on her ears, or her paws, or her tail but not all of her... never all of her. It just doesn't fit., she thought to herself for what must have been the millionth time. It almost hurt to take Tawnywhisker in all at once, something about her was just wrong. Wrong wasn't ugly though no matter how much Tawnystorm thought it should be. Maybe its beauty. She's beautiful. No, not beautiful either. It was just different. Wa that possible, could different stand on its own? She contemplated this for a moment before giving her tail an agitated swoosh. That answer decided to remain hidden until another day.
Somewhere in the back of her mind she remembered it wasn't polite to stare and faced forward. The same black space in her mind reminded her why she was out today. They were counting the rocks at Moonglade. Somehow it felt wrong, like rocks weren't meant to be counted. These rocks weren't meant to be counted. Volepelt hadn't provided a reason except to do it, and Tawnystorm didn't think that was enough. Be a good warrior. she thought sarcastically. Keep it inside, don't let it out. You'll explode. Secretly she hoped there were no rocks, that they all magically disappeared but she knew that hadn't happened. There would probably be so many rocks it be stupid.
"Do you even like counting?" she asked her voice a whisper for no real reason except they were alone. At least try and make conversation; the she-cat was sure she was bound to say the wrong thing.
