Amberheart was down. Seriously seriously down. Her mind, turncoat that it was, kept flashbacking to the time when she first found out her mother had died. When her whole world crashed spectacularly around her paws. Her and her father had never been the same since, becoming harder, more distant somehow.

Still, she reasoned to herself, it is a beautiful day, why should I be gloomy?

Wrapping her tail neatly around her paws, she decided to do something with this beautiful day. She just didn't know what... She sat there, tail still wrapped around her paws, and waited for something or someone to happen.

Briarheart crawled out of the warriors den, eyes heavy with sleep and his mind filled with fog as he tried wake up.
His amber gaze shifted around the clan camp and then yawned, that's when his gaze caught sight of Amberstream. What was she doing awake alone.

He walked over to her, brushing his fluffy tail down her back and nuzzling into her cheek. "What are you doing awake before me?" He meowed softly, looking over at her with a vast amount of affection.

Amberstream's first reaction was to flinch away from the contact, but then she caught Briarheart's scent, realised just who it was that had touched her.

She returned the nuzzle with a lick to his cheek, purring softly. "My mind has decided to relive that moment, so no sleep for me..."

Amberstream snuggled in close to Briarheart, let his scent wash over her... it was always so peaceful, being with him, it calmed her down.

"So...what shall we do with ourselves today, Briar?"

"I've told you..." he mused, licking her cheek softly and nuzzling into her ear. "It's just the past and should blow away slowly my dear ~"

After she asked where he was going to go, he pondered and gazed towards the woodland. "Let's go to hunt and just travel around the Fogclan territory?" he looked towards the foggy area around the place and swayed his tail softly side to side, enjoying his mates scent. Especially when she was a recent warrior, it would be nice to spend time with her until she got overwhelmed with warrior duties.

Amberstream, whose mind had gone to a bad place again, screwed up her eyes in concentration and dragged her mind from where it had gone. She looked at Briarheart then, licked his head and ear.

"It should indeed blow away slowly, but it's not blowing away slowly enough" Amberstream was looking sad again. "Sure, a tour of FogClan territory won't hurt, and i'm sure Volepelt will appreciate us reaffirming the borders."

With that, she rose gracefully to her paws, stretched them out in turn, and slowly began to walk towards the marshy land she called her home.

Hurdling her away from the camp slowly, he glanced back as she spoke about Volepelt.
"He would, wouldn't he?" he mused before turning to walk onward beside her.

"We can get food too."

Amberstream entwined her tail with Briarheart's, as she walked by his side out of camp. This was going to be a good day. Briar would make it so. As she walked by his side, out of camp, she was immediately hit with the scent of many pieces of prey.

"Briar, do you smell that?" she whispered to him. Her heart rate increased as she also detected a strange scent, neither cat nor prey. "And...that... What IS that?"

She turned to look at him, eyes full of alarm at the unknown scent.

Fur spiked up in worry as his young mate sensed something, the tom sniffed the air too and wrapped his tail protectively over the younger she-cat with his eyes focused around.

As he inhaled the air, he could smell the natural substances, but so were the mixed ones twining in.
"Let's head to it, I wont let anything dangerous near you so don't feel alarmed my love." he purred affectionately as he moved forward with his tail trailing over the she-cat's back and wrapping around her shoulders.

Amberstream could feel her mate's unquestioning support, and a purr rose up in her throat as an answer. She knew that nothing bad would happen to her while he was around, he wouldn't let it.

"It's okay, Briar... I know nothing bad can happen while I'm with you. "

She followed him, towards the source of the strange scent, feeling safe with his tail wrapped around her shoulders and draped over her back.

Amberstream seemed so worried, it was rather adorable despite how he needed to protect her a lot.
He wrapped his tail more around her waist and the tip dragged slowly over her shoulders.

As the scent got stronger and stronger, he pushed through the undergrowth and noticed something new.

Amberstream was being led by Briarheart at this point, and therefore she noticed the new thing too. It wasn't a cat or prey, but short and squat with black and white fur.
