"I'm a fine catch, aren't I?" -- Cranetail.
Name | Cranetail
Gender | Tom
Age | 25 moons
Rank | Warrior
Clan | FogClan
Beliefs| Cranetail believes in the things that cats doubt. Some many things happen naturally in life, then how could StarClan not be real as well? It being traditional, Cranetail has no doubt in his ancestors, but he always has that question in his head. If StarClan is real, than what other ancestors are real for other cats. Surely, they must goes somewhere. Cranetail's goal is to please his ancestors, but nothing too insane. There's a point where Cranetail's stops following the Code and follows his heart, even if its stated not to do that, he knows there's a reason to disobey the Warrior Code.
Parents | Cloudflower(mother-NP) and Darkfoot(father-NP)
Siblings | Loonstep(played by Cloudie)
Other Kin | none
Mate | Not yet
Crush | Not yet
Kits | Not yet
Apprentice/Mentor | Not yet
Appearance | Cranetail's first impression on many cats is wow. This is mainly because just his main features is his broad shoulders and his air of pure strength. Cranetail's pure size as scared many a stronger, and more clear-headed cat. His leg muscles are lean, and show that he has worked hard to show others he isn't a cat to be messed with. Cranetail has a distinct scar on his left flank, from a fight with a few rouges who wouldn't leave the territory.
He has a pure white pelt, giving him part of his name. Cranetail's fur is long and poofy, sort of signaling he can be nice when he wants to be. In the winter, it seems to be longer and thicker, but it never loses any of its puffiness. To signal to his name, Cranetail has a longer than normal tail that is bushy. Cranetail likes to keep his fur rather spotless, being pure white, he seems to look dirtier than he actually is when he gets into a fight with a cat from another Clan. He wants to be presentable enough for someone to like him for him.
Ah, Cranetail's face. Some say a man's face can show his hardships throughout his life. That is not the case with Crantetail's long and almost instantly lovable face. Almost all the time his face is shown as happy, and even cocky when he feels he has accomplished something worthwhile. Cranetail's whiskers are droopy, and are a pale gray. When he questions the accuracy of someone's reply, his whiskers undeniably twitch, unsure if the other cat is purposely lying or not.
Personality | From the outside, he looks cocky, and he thinks he's all that. That's what Cranetail shows to the outside world. Don't get me wrong, he does think he's at the top of the world. But even the most precious gems collect dirt. Generally, he is a bit cocky, and he thinks that the world revolves around him, and not others, but that's all a mask. Cranetail isn't sure when its right to be himself, so he hides in a fake Cranetail, pretending to be better than others, when he really is hoping that he isn't falling down on the food chain.
The thing is, to Cranetail, its always been the rank in authority that matters. Ever since that bitter cold leaf-bare day, when an apprentice had mocked him for being too small to even hunt for his clan in these cold times, that changed Cranetail. Naturally, Loonstep came to his defense, and told him not to listen to a word of that flea bitten apprentice, but that made Cranetail think. If the kit was one of the lowest ranks manageable, was there worse things? Cranetail spoke of this to his brother, but Loonstep ignored him. He told him to forget the past, and look forward. Cranetail did, and he vowed to be the best warrior his clanmates had ever seen.
Around his clan mates, he's just like any regular old cat. Though, is she-cat clan mates do make him more likable when there's a lady involved. Genrally, he's an easy going cat and when his clan mates are in turmoil, he can calm them down. Now, when he's in a dilemma, he always tries to remember his closest friends, but also sworn enemies, Loonstep and his other friends. But, that still won't calm him down, as he misses them more than anything. So, he usually goes out to hunt when he's having his own problems, as he doesn't like to socialize while he's in a predicament.
Skills | What you would call Cranetail's skill, would have to be his fighting. His build is ideal for a fighter, which is just something you can't control. But, when first learned how to fight, he understood the concepts of why you fight, and for whom. You could call this an aspect of honor, in a way. Cranetail also had the muscle build to be a fighter, as he is stronger than most of his opponents. Fighting was the one thing that he actually paid attention to, and Cranetail's discipline sort of started off from learning to fight. He felt good at it, and this led to a boost in confidence.
History | Being born directly at the same time as two others sort of changes you, ya know? Especially when the medicine cat mixes you up, gives you to the wrong mother and then the kittens by you become more like your...siblings. Believe me, I know this from personal experience. Loonstep and I were born, almost seconds apart from Duckfang and Goosefur. It's become a bit of a joke in the Clan, really. Having a stressed out medicine cat can make the scenario a bit funnier, while they yell out to no one in particular. Ah...memories.
Anyways, after a few moons, the four of us became fast friends. Naturally, Duck-kit and I led the other two into adventures of a lifetime. Okay, so it was more like they came to make sure we wouldn't get ourselves killed but hey, it makes memories! Life continued on like this in kithood, Goosekit and Loonkit would scold the two of us for thinking of harebrained schemes, but the we countered(ever so tactfully) the consequences if they didn't come with us. Which usually were death, losing half our fur, or, more commonly, getting in a dung load of trouble.
Then came the day when Duck-kit and I were brainstorming(like we usually did) at sunhigh. I had had an idea to include another Clan in today's adventure, and Duck-kit suggested to spy on the camp. At the time, I thought we were brilliant. But...I soon learned afterwords, that it was the stupidest thing I have probably ever done in my life.
So, after Loonkit and Goosefkit accepted to go, we set off into the dirtplace. Goosekit would stay behind to keep our parents from wondering where the StarClan we were. You see, if three kits go into the dirtplace, all anyone would ever suspect was that they were too scared to go alone, y'know? Warriors have it stuck in their thick skulls that apparently kits are too scared to see the world to the fullest, well, we weren't.
The three of us went off, Goosekit failed her job, and we got ran up a tree in an enemy clan's territory. You can imagine the looks we received from our parents, they could of killed us. Our leader was especially upset, we were held back from being apprentices for two moons. I was angry, of course, but the whole thrill of the incident had kept me wanting to continue my ways, even if I would probably receive worse next time, Duck-kit was likewise, but Loonkit was going to try to be "better".
Apprenticeship:
After 2 more moons of agonizing humility, we were finally apprentices. I was surprised too. But, the effect didn't last long. Seeing that ForestClan broke in hlaf, and most went with Cedarclaw to find their own new land to call home. It was a long journey and many cats didn't make it...
I vaguely remember the other three going off the talk about something during the journey, leaving me alone. That's when this newly made warrior came up and mocked me. He...he said that I was never going to truly help my clan, because I was so girlish. I wanted to tear him apart. And then he said that I would never become a warrior, because I had never seen the "wild side" of a battle before. That cat was stopped short, when the other three had come back.
I know I shouldn't have believed that fox dung but...he mad it seem like I really was hopeless. I wanted to talk to Loonpaw about this, but when they had come back, he ignored me. Duckpaw muttered something about going to sleep and Goosepaw looked too embarrassed to talk to me.
What in the name of StarClan had I done?
Warrior:
We found our new home. And, out the weirdness of it all, we separated into different clans. Loonstep to PineClan, Duckstripe to MeadowClan and Goosefur to StreamClan, leaving him in Fogclan. I really don't know why we separated...Goosefur almost went with me to FogClan, and I really honestly didn't want to see us all be torn apart. But...what more can a guy do, y'know?
So I went, into unknown territory into a clan that seemed to have accepted me. After all, we were all new at this. But hey, no one ever said life would be as easy as picking out prey from a prey pile.
