What are they?
Council members are an unofficial ranking within the Fogclan heirarchy. They are like Fogclan's own personal mafia, a collection of cats who enforce the rules. They make it their job to discover every sign of rebellion, punish any rule breaking and keep the clan as 'pure' as possible. They are meant to help the clan and each individual remain pure by providing guidance. However, this isn't always the case, and the system is prone to corruption. The motive of every council member can vary as they are individuals. One might be entirely sincere, kind and just eager to help out the clan they live in, while another may simply be manipulating the system in an attempt to gain more power over other cats. These cats are higher up in the heirarchy than medicine cats, but answer to the deputy. They may know more about the behind the scenes running than a simple follower, and they will often carry out secret tasks or undercover missions for Volepelt.
If you apply for this role, every rule here is a guideline.You can do with the role what you wish, and we will not be checking up on what you are doing. Volepelt isn't bothered about the corruption in his clan, believing all that he is doing is justified and right, so your cat can be whatever you want!
Current council members and their general approach:
Volepelt (Will carry out these duties also) - Has the most slanted set of morals, but believes absolutely that he is doing right. He rules without emotion, according to the guidelines he's set out. Maintains sanity when it comes to rule, but his mental state isn't brilliant emotion wise.
Rowanheart - Whiskers - A warm, forgiving tom taken in by the regime. He is very emotional and probably the softest of the council cats, but he's forever getting tougher under the regime. Sane.
Tawnywhisker - Glowy - A very stern she-cat that follows the rules while maintaining some degree of free thought. She's best described as the head teacherly figure, terrifying and demanding respect. Still sane.
Reedfoot - Pyro - An indoctrinated female who still rules somewhat emotionally. Not particularly soft or tough, and still retaining all her sanity.
Thrushflower - Amber - A very stern and biased she-cat. Her personal opinions taint her actions, and she hates non-clanborn cats (which makes no sense, as all the cats in the clan were loners/kittypets or born to loners/kittypets). Behaviour is very very erratic and her sanity is questionable at best.
Shadowheart - Storm (pending) -
List of their jobs:
- Enforce the rules. They may tell off any cats who are doing something wrong and carry out mild/moderate physical punishments.
- Report on clan happenings to Volepelt. They should be a secretive bunch who collect useful information by whatever means they desire
- Tell Volepelt of any rebellion or if a cat needs to be publically punished.
- Do any other tasks Volepelt tells them to do. These could be things like keep an eye on a certain group of friends or purposely neglect non-believers.
- Act as a role model to all cats. This may not work in practice.
- Council members may interrupt rps set in the 'Camp' area without asking for anyone's permission BUT within reason.

Making a council member from scratch:
To do this, apply for the cat in the Rankings area using the Rankings form. Your roleplay sample should be of the cat acting as a council member. In the personality section, you should clearly state their motive for being a council member. Once you have finished your application, please post a link to it on this thread.
