Don't hate me 'cuz I'm beautiful; Willowpaw
Name | Willowpaw
Gender | She-cat
Age | 10 moons
Rank | apprentice
Clan | PineClan
Beliefs | Willowkit wasn’t given much choice in the matter of Starclan. Surrounded by cats who don’t believe, it’s only natural that she would follow their example. Now that she is an apprentice and she is learning more about the other clans, that belief—or lack thereof—has only been strengthened. She hates how the other clans worship stars, and she thinks that the attention they focus on Starclan is “pointless” and “wasted.” She’s almost jealous of the attention that Starclan gets, when really, they are nothing but stars, so they don’t deserve it.
She also believes that the only way to get what you want is to fight for it. Luck, fate—doesn’t exist. If you’re a bad hunter, it’s because you don’t practice enough. She doesn’t want to make any excuses for her skills, or any of her friend’s skills.

Kits | Not yet
Apprentice/Mentor | Ashstorm
Appearance | Willowpaw is growing up to be a ravishing beauty. Her fur is a lighter gray than her mother’s, its shade a shimmering silver. She has slight tabby markings, which are most noticeable on the tip of her long, snake-like tail. Her fur is short and thin though always very neat, as Willowpaw has a compulsion with keeping very clean and very nice-looking.
Her thin fur only makes her look even smaller, and as the runt of Swallowpelt’s litter, Willowpaw is very small. She has skinny, short legs and narrow shoulders and she could easily blend in with the other kits if she wanted to (which she does not). Her face, however, is what makes her truly a pretty she-cat. She has a narrow muzzle with large emerald eyes, resembling her mother’s almost perfectly, true to size and shape.
Personality | Willowpaw is many negative things. She is selfish, always looking out for herself, never thinking through her words or her actions long enough to consider how she might make another cat feel. She is spoiled, and so she is used to getting what she wants, and doesn’t like it when someone doesn’t listen to her or follows her ‘orders.’ Her father’s doting has made her think she is ‘special’ and the most beautiful cat to walk on this earth. She is a badger, a brat, a narcissist.
But she’s awfully good at hiding it.
If described in one word, Willowpaw would be two-faced. On the outside, she is wonderful at putting on a façade, acting concerned or sweet when it suits her. Inside though, she could be fuming, sneering and mocking the cat to whom she appears to be amicable. Why doesn’t she just say terrible things to their faces? Well, because she knows her comments, as honest as they are, will not be well received and as mean as Willowpaw is, she is desperate to be liked. She needs to be liked, she craves attention—positive only, no negative attention allowed. That’ll just make her feel horrible.
Willowpaw though, is terribly impatient and easily angered. Little things can set her off and upset her, and sometimes she can lose control of herself and can spit out something rude and horrid. Usually though, she never means these things that she says, and she’ll regret them later. Apologizing is not something that she does well and she likes to put it off as long as possible. Eventually though, she’ll come around and stumble through the process, all her grace and charm gone.
Willowpaw, because she loves attention, is developing into a natural flirt. Her looks, as ravishingly as they are, act as magnet for most young toms. And if a tom does not notice her, or does not take interest in her, then Willowpaw will seek them out and make them, purring and teasing the tom cat, until finally, she knows he admire her. There is nothing that she likes more than the glow of an admirer’s gaze. Only tom cats can really make her feel truly beautiful, because though she knows she is, she needs the attention to make her really feel it.
If you dig past her outer layer, peel back that snide inner one, you will find Willowpaw’s core, which is an insecure she-cat who feels unloved, unappreciated and unimportant. Because of those feelings, Willowpaw is a determined, ambitious she-cat, whose goal is to be noticed by everyone, appreciated by everyone. Clearly, this means that she’ll have to be Pineclan leader one day. Her drive to impress makes her work hard, because only through her own skill will she be number one in her clan.
Skills | Willowpaw is a young apprentice, and so her skills are still developing. However, because of her determination, Willowpaw is dedicated to her studies and is already starting to excel. Her small size automatically puts her at a disadvantage for fighting, though she wants to overcome that. Hunting comes easier, since she has a natural quiet step. Since she is smaller, she can get tired quickly on long patrols. Possibly her biggest weakness though is her refusal to acknowledge her tiny stature, and so she pushes herself too far.
History |
Kithood:
Willowpaw was born to Otterfur and Swallowpelt, as part of the first litter in Pineclan. From the get go, being one of the first clan-born kits made Willowpaw feel special. She knew what an honor it was to hold such a title, and she saw her mother’s face glow with pride whenever it was said. Her father was equally proud of his kits, but Willowkit, being his only daughter, found a special place in his heart and enjoyed her position as ‘daddy’s girl.’ She loved Otterfur’s compliments and loving looks, and to this day, she is honest and kind to Otterfur above anyone else. He is her favorite cat in this world.
For the first few moons of Willowpaw’s life, she was extremely happy, spoiled and playful, possessing a mischievous streak that foreshadowed her future cleverness and manipulative nature. She was never shy, never afraid to tell an ‘innocent little lie’ to her parents, in order to try to sneak away. These efforts were all in vain, of course, but Willowkit never minded, because she was never bored when her brothers were around. And back then, she loved her brothers, even when they told on her for calling them names or teasing them mercilessly about this or that.
But then Crowkit got interested in medicine and everything changed.
That day, when she heard her brother was going to be Pineclan medicine cat apprentice, Willowkit did not know what to feel. Her first emotion came back to her when she saw her mother’s warm, loving face, as she congratulated her son and licked the top of his head, something the grumpy she-cat rarely did to any of them. It was a massive show of affection from a she-cat who was never very affectionate, and Willowkit was hit with a truth she could no longer deny: Swallowpelt liked Crowkit best.
This thought festered in Willowkit’s mind for a few days and now that she had recognized it, she couldn’t stop seeing it. Her mother would give Crowkit more smiles then both Elmkit and herself combined. She would accept Crowkit’s trivial gifts with a laugh. Yes, Crowkit was Swallowpelt’s favorite, and he was slowly becoming the favorite of others in the clan too. Why? Flowers!.
Willowkit was overlooked that whole moon, and when Crowkit’s apprentice ceremony came up, everyone congratulated him and now he was Crowpaw and she was nothing more than a stupid kit. A newfound jealously formed in Willowkit and she was never jokingly mean to Crowpaw again. No, now she actually did feel like she hated him—hated him for his flowers, for his position, for the way he gave love to absolutely everyone, like he was perfect, holy, pure, better than anyone else. Willowkit began to find her brother’s happy-go-lucky attitude insufferable. Whenever she was around him, she just felt…ugly and mean, and so it made her want to act ugly and mean. Therefore, she avoided him and longed for the day she became an apprentice. Apprenticeship:
Willowkit became Willowpaw not long after Crowpaw, but it did not matter. The way she saw it, Crowpaw beat her and was already ahead. Willowpaw, clearly, has to work harder than anyone else if she was going to be the best. Her competitive spirit emerged and she rushed into training with the mindset of success. Failure was not an option.
On her very first day of apprenticeship, Willowpaw met Juncopaw. While Juncopaw was a moon older than Willowpaw, Willowpaw took an automatic liking to her—mostly because Juncopaw took an automatic liking to her. Willowpaw was surprised when Juncopaw approached her, but she was also happy. Someone wanted to be her friend! From that day on, Willowpaw attached herself to Juncopaw and the dysfunctional friendship began, with Willowpaw taking advantage of the more dependent, meek Juncopaw. [/size]
