Name | Dappledpaw
Gender | She-cat
Age | 6 moons
Rank | Apprentice
Clan | PineClan
Beliefs | The only thing that Dappledpaw hopes for is that StarClan does exist. She doesn't think about it too often, but she hopes it exists for her mother's and dead siblings' sakes, which is actually rather selfish. This cat hopes it exists so that maybe she can see her family. If anyone asks her of course, she'll say that she does not, because in reality, she does not believe in it. It doesn't bother her one bit that she doesn't really believe in it. However, with how obsessed FogClan is with their beliefs, she wonders from time to time if StarClan does actually exist.

Appearance |
Dappledpaw is a small cat. She has brilliant, bright bronze eyes in contrast to a dark black face. A sliver of a line runs on both sides of her muzzle, seeping into an upside down V on her face, then curls around the edges of her upper lips. The rest of her head is left black, other than her long white whiskers, and the light ear fuzz. Her nose is black too. She has a white chest, back, and belly, and the only leg that is black is her front left. Her tail is black as well, and is more coarse than the rest of her fur. The black tail also has a slight dotted pattern of white hairs here and there that stand out against their dark background.
Personality |
Dappledpaw is a cat of cats; that is, her heart belongs to her Clan, but she tries to not favor one cat over another if a decision must be made. She tries to be fair to all while keeping true to her own Clan, which is hard. If a hard decision comes up, questioning her alliances, she'll stick with PineClan to the end.
Dappledpaw is a sponge for knowledge. She loves to learn, and is patient when she wants to be. When there is something new to learn, she calms down if need be, and puts all her attention into whatever she's learning, whether it be some gossip about another Clan, or important training information. Her curiosity however, applying to her yearn for knowledge, can make her bold and careless, sometimes even mindlessly nosy. If she smells a new smell, there's no way to keep her from finding out what it is unless someone can tell her what it is then and there. She'll taste anything, and try anything - except perhaps falling from that tree that's too high.
While she likes to learn, Dappledpaw is also fairly gullible. She'll fall into a trick that seems obvious enough, but her own curiosity is what really sets off her gullibility.
Dappledpaw is usually fairly cautious around other cats not from her own Clan, but is friendly if she doesn't have a reason not to be. In these situations, she is normally less gullible, especially by the other party. She likes having friends, and dislikes having enemies. Usually if it comes to fighting, Dappledpaw tries to talk to the other cat before drawing claws if she can help it. She seems to many to be a cat with a soft heart - one who could not be in a Clan if she cannot fight for her Clan without question.
Dappledpaw is usually calm when she's not investigating something. She isn't really ever too energetic, but has plenty of stored energy for hunting or patrols - whenever it's needed, that is. She doesn't have a history of anger, but can sometimes get angry about personal things.
Even though many of her Clan are half or were formerly kittypets, she commonly feels as though she needs to prove herself to her Clan. She feels that, because she is young and older cats have had more time to prove themselves, she still needs to in a way - as if she's not actually a forest cat. She'd heard about the soft life of a kittypet, and, although it sounded nice to become a part of, she doesn't want that life for herself. However, she still thinks about it.
Skills |
Dappledpaw is very good at learning. Once she learns something, chances are, she'll remember it. This goes along with her insatiable thirst for knowledge - she doesn't just want to be a Clan cat, she wants to know everything about it. That doesn't, however, make her want to be leader, but if she is chosen, then she is chosen.
With a small body, Dappledpaw is more agile than she is strong. She has sharp fangs and claws, and, although she wants to learn many techniques of fighting, her best approach has always been to fight speedily and take advantage of her opponents weight against them.
Because she is fast, Dappledpaw likes to hunt. It also gives her a chance at finding something new out in the woods - something else to learn about.
History |
Dappledpaw's father was a kittypet, but her mother was given little grief when she was found pregnant. Her birthing had a horrific ending - she herself died from being sick in combination with the birthing. The kits were born a little early and unhealthy because of their mother's sickness, as well as during the winter. The kits were named by Cougarpelt, the kits' uncle and only living relative within the Clan. He named her 'Dappledkit', because of the color of her face, tail, and one leg - them being black while the rest of her pelt was white. He was the one to tell their father about Treefang's death. Not long after their birth, three of the kits died from being too sick. Dappledpaw was the only one to survive sickness and the harsh winter.
Dappledpaw grew close to her Clan. She saw her father every now and then alongside Cougarpelt every now and then as a kit. She enjoyed seeing her father, and listening to stories about him and her mother's short affairs. The Clan obviously knew of this, but the leader allowed a visit once in a while if they knew of the visits. The leader was a little sympathetic, seeing as her father was her only living parent.
Once she heard of StarClan, she asked her uncle what it was, and where it was, if it was another Clan. Cougarpelt told her the basics about StarClan, how some believe that dead cats joined StarClan, and how sometimes they would show themselves to living cats. He added at the end that it was a load of crow's food. Dappledpaw thought of this, and wondered, for an instance, if StarClan was real - if there was a chance that she could meet her dead mother and siblings. Her heart ached to meet her, just once, if only for a moment.
Dappledpaw grew strong in her Clan, and grew up to be a very curious cat. She realized that the leader and deputy were both always knowledgeable, so she wanted to be strong and smart. Not that she wanted to specifically be leader some day, but she did want to be as helpful to her Clan as she could be.
The day that Dappledpaw was to be made an apprentice, she went to visit her father on the edge of the forest again, this time by herself. He didn't show up, even when she softly mewed for him to come out. She went back to camp with a heavy heart to tell Cougarpelt. Even before the ceremony, everyone in camp knew about it because someone overheard. Many of the Clan felt sorry for her, and voiced their sympathy, though everyone knew that nothing could be done. She became an apprentice that day.
Only a few weeks after becoming an apprentice, Dappledpaw's uncle, Cougarpelt, was supposedly proven to be working with another Clan for some reason. He smelt of a foreign Clan almost constantly, and, at one point, disappeared for days at once. When he came back, his belly was full, and even though he claimed he'd been hunting that whole time, he didn't have a single piece of prey, nor did he smell of PineClan's territories. He felt the Clan's aggression towards him, and left swiftly in the night, leaving no trail or telling anyone where he went.
Because of his strange actions and disappearances, the Clan began to wonder if Dappledpaw, too, was in league with him and another Clan. Although they did not kick her out of the Clan, there was raising tension between Dappledpaw and her Clan.
