That sounds pretty interesting O:

I looked up a few things, because this really is quite interesting to me. I can see what everyone has basically said- the having a voice part of your mind anyhow. I feel like i might have one. . i mean, when im in the middle of an extreme emotion like sadness or the feeling of being lost i usually tell myself, physically, out loud, that i need to calm down. I always thought i was just talking to myself in a way, but at the same time it felt like it was a completely different emotion in a way- which would, in my mind, explain and makes me relate to this daemon thing very quickly.

That sounds more like a second-person kinda thing, but yea. I mean, what is it like to type up what your daemon is saying? o: instinctual? Natural? or searching for it perhaps?

Mil: Sounds like cast-iron daemon duty to me. Whoever you got, they're doing their job.

Me: Since I've had a lot of practice communicating what she says, and we've had many, many discussions on the topic, it usually comes pretty naturally for Mil and I. Sometimes I lose contact with her, but rarely for longer than a week, we usually talk (if briefly) at least once a day or more. Then again, we've been in direct contact for about six years now, so it's fairly easy for us.

Mil: I love helping others though. ESPECIALLY with naming. |D

Well i can see how that would be quite easy then XD haha. Actually, i think i might have identified him/her awhile ago, but didn't quite realize it. For example; frostclaw4ever.deviantart.com/#/d4cchm5

That is a picture of my 'persona'. Me as an animal basically, and she is a cat. Ive tried giving her a name before, but it never really stuck or seemed right. I usually draw her with my emotions, something close to home, or something im feeling very very strongly. Maybe even something i just feel strong about. Do you think this could relate in any way?

I get the talking inside the head part o: i actually tried asking 'what color is the sky?' and got a quick answer. I dont know if it was my mind subconsciously trying to please me or if it was my daemon, but it surprised me.

Also, sometimes ill be in an extreme emotion and have thoughts, that i wont say out loud. Plus, when someone sees this emotion, i can usually never talk normally- but once in awhile i feel my emotions just change and i feel very calm for a few moments. Would that be the same thing?

Another thing. . . XD is it normal for daemons to be kinda. . mean? I mean, i dont always have the best self esteem. So sometimes i can get down and mentally kinda yell at myself, and im not sure why. I just feel bad and bring myself down, would that be a work of my daemon too?

Mil: Hrm. I was a cat when I first came to consciousness, too. Interesting.

Me: It's difficult to tell how exactly it relates, but from what you've said it sounds like what you're describing the basic stuff most daemons are made of. I say 'most' because it varies from person to person how they perceive their daemon and which mental ways of focusing they identify them with. (I know, I'm getting technical. Bear with me.)

Hmm, the answer part definitely sounds like your daemon trying to talk to you.

It can be. Mil can sometimes alter my emotions like that when things get tough and I need to keep my head. At the same time, she's quite capable of leaving me out to dry-

Me: -when she feels I've been particularly irresponsible or something's my own fault anyway. So yes, daemons can be mean, and Mil and I have had our fair share of squabbles, but we've always made up and we get along much better now. It's a developing relationship like any other: you have to work on it.

Ohhhh i have plenty of questions then XD i always will. Espically because i cant just ask in the chat box about it *feels bad because i might post ALOT here then*

So, the thing is, i think i might already know her. Like, i can just have a conversation with ease mentally. But if i ask a question like ' are you my dæmon? ' theres no answer. So im guessing im not sure subconciously, or maybe she/he's not comfortable saying or is unsure too.

But particularly. . . i believe ive had many accounts with her actually. (im pretty sure its a girl? but im not completely sure yet.) On one account was very very late at night when i was laying beside my boyfriend. We were having little arguments here and there, and were both exhausted. Eventually, i said something along the lines of ' fine, no walls. Im purely me right now. . . hello. ' and i just let all of my walls and everything crumble. I didnt really have a secondary thought or anything, it was. . . strange. But because it was so late, and i even felt quite possibly delusional, ive basically forgotten about it and am going to try to after this just for sanity reasons i guess XD

Also, when ive been under emotional turmoil- espically during arguments with my boyfriend- and he ends up seeing my. . lets just say emotions XD i will usually curl up with him sometimes and just be weak. But when he tells me to stop, or calm down, i usually can. But its usually an instant wave of change. Is that my dæmon as well? I think it might be a reflection of it, because his voice sounded so familiar at that moment- i think his voice sounded like my dæmons voice- is that normal?

I have no idea where to start with a name XD im pretty comfortable with not having one at the moment, and so does she i guess XD but it never hurts to try i suppose?

Also, i can imagine her- projection wise. Ive always imagined a horse along the side of the road, running around and over obstacles when it comes to them while on a drive and i get bored. So, projection of an idea actually seems. . simple XD i can imagine her on my lap, jumping onto the bed. Is that normal? XD i feel like it shouldn't be. Since i believe finding a name for it comes first, but you did say that everyone is different- so you never know i guess.

I know theres more i want to say XD but i dont know how to, or what i want to say haha.

Mil: Haha, beginner's mistake. We pretty much NEVER (at least among the daemons I've known) respond to that direct a question. We've gotta be coaxed out. |D We're weird that way.

Me: S'fine. Post as much as you need to; that's what the thread is for. Interesting about the thing with your boyfriend; not sure what to make of that, but it could be daemon-related.

Sometimes the change in emotion is just you - then again, our daemons ARE us, just as we are them. We're different sides of the same coin, you could say.

But the daemon, as we call it, is the bit of us that's always watching us. Our consciousness, our relation to the world. What you might call your soul.

Mil: Blasphemy. We will find her a cool name and she will like it. Also, Cloud's gettin' all philosophical, so I'm going to bring it back down to earth. What you say about projections sounds normal. I don't always project myself - but often. In many ways I'm not real. But I also say things that Cloud wasn't even thinking of at the time, or didn't remember until I brought up. I make her laugh, smile, and at the risk of sounding terribly corny, brighten her life. As she does mine. We ground each other.

Granted, she get along perfectly fine without me, and I could be happy as a silent voice in the mind, but I like it this way. It's not for everyone, but it's for me, and I like spreading it throughout the world.

That makes sense. I mean, i know she wouldnt actually bethere, but i can imagine her to be if i wished. Same with imagining a horse along the side of the road. I know its not there, but it works.

Yea XD my dæmon, or thoughts, arent exactly planned- so it has to be my subconscious talking, or so im guessing. I can see what you'd mean by brightening up her life <3 i really hope my dæmon could do that for me too, if it decides to truly show up. But then again, when i get in bad moods, my thoughts normally dont help XD so i cant be sure. I certainly understand the lateness factor XD believe me haha. I get thats its not for everyone too- similar to religion in a way i guess you could say. Or a likeness to a certain taste or smell. I guess. XD i dont know. Its late, i need to sleep hahaha.

Well i tried communicating a bit today, i think it worked. But i still felt like i was just speaking to myself. Should i act as though im talking to someone else? o: would that help?

I think a name would be cool xD and i guess would give me a better place to work on stuff, so the help would be appreciated~ <3

Mil: -shrugs- That one's always been somewhat of a mystery. Like I've said, we are you, (we as daemons) but we do sometimes voice stuff that wasn't even on your mind. I often do that with Cloudie, but with some people, they do feel like they're just talking to themselves. Not that that's necessarily good or bad; just is.

Me: To answer your question though, you can if you like, though I've never heard of it being done. Whatever suits you, really.

Mil: WHOO NAMING TIMES. First thing to do is establish what gender. You've been saying a girl, yah? It's usually a guy for girls and vice versa, but obviously there are exceptions. Me and two other daemons called Silviel and Lyrca were also female daemons who had girls as their bodies.

Second thing is figuring out how many syllables you want in the name. I know it sounds weird, but trust me.

Hmmm well maybe ill get lucky and see the difference sometime. Or lets hope i guess xDD

I would say a girl would make sense- though im not 110% sure :c But if i had to decide, i would say it is a chicka xD

Well, think about it. Do you like long fancy names or short simple ones? We've had everything from Xen (just that as a name) to Kharnassial and Jacquenrio Relwin.

Me: Some people take their daemon's names from anything from type fonts (our former head admin Crow's Jeyllisa) to ink blot tests (our former member Hardy's Rorschach). So it could be something like that, too.

I like simple ones usually :3 but i read about long ones with nicknames, so either would work XD

& That would be cool o: to name her after something. But i have no clue what! XD *very bad with this finding and naming thing apparently*

Well, what sorts of things do you like? Hobbies and such? A name might be sourced from that. Or if you ever had an imaginary friend as a kid. Pyro's Rio's first name was sourced from that. (Though his name evolved a bit before becoming Jaquenrio Relwin.)
