For the first 30 moons of life in the clans, life was smooth and uneventful. After a time of turmoil within the confines of corrupt Forestclan, the Forestclan cats were more than ready for a life without hardship. When the clans were founded, made up of former forestclan cats, loners and kittypets, allowances were made for any misbehaviour or breaking of the warrior code. The territory boundaries were movable, the community was welcoming to new members and cats couldn't be bothered to pursue pieces of missing prey.
However, now, after a hard winter, the honeymoon period is definitely over. The territories are set and defended viciously, the clans are hostile towards outsiders and one paw over a scent boundary could spell problems at a Gathering. Tensions between the clans are rising, with alliances likely and enemy clans a great possibility. Fogclan, the pious, and Pineclan, the faithless, now rarely speak to one another, though this is mostly due to hostility on Fogclan's part.
Some of the clans are now starting to fall apart from the inside. Fogclan, the clan once known for being particularly faithful, is now obsessed with clan purity. The warrior code is law and Starclan faith is not an option: it is necessary to survive the clan system. Progressively becoming more brutal, in Fogclan, sin is paid for in blood and warriorship is only open to those who prove themselves 'faithful'. Volepelt, running the clan in what he believes to be Miststar's 'temporary' absence, will stop at nothing to make his clan 'Starclan-worthy', and he cares only to eradicate any individuality from his clan.
Meadowclan, once seen as the strongest and most well-founded clan, is also suffering internal strife. Made up of a mish-mash of former Forestclanners and loners and kittypets, some cats have noticed a divide forming between the former clanners and the other clan cats. Could it be that Cedarstar is biased towards his former clanmates and that he does not see those without a clan heritage as worthy of higher roles? Calling foul, the former loners and kittypets are watching Cedarstar's every move, calling for better equality and for the election of only former Forestclanners to positions of power to cease.
Streamclan is going through a major shakeup. After a particularly harsh winter with a serious prey shortage, Cloudstar, the beloved leader, has had to step down due to serious injuries that prevent him from leading and he now resides within the elder den. Now, a new leader must take the reins and, with a brand new deputy and medicine cat at their side, they must make the clan strong again and rebuild it from its very roots.
Only Pineclan seems to be thriving with their new system, despite their faithlessness. However, though internally sound, Fogclan seem set on turning the other clans against them, so their path ahead is sure to be difficult.
Four different clans, four very different problems. Will they perish or thrive? That's entirely up to you.

Past Underlying Plots
Underlying Plot #1
With the formation of the new clans, many beliefs have been formed as well as friendships, rivalries, and bonds that are sure to be the structure of these clans. Even if the rogues and loners that now make up the clan find it hard to adapt to the new Warrior Code, the bonds they've formed will hold things in place.
But one clan is stirring up trouble. They don't mean to, after all, who are they to be bashed for their beliefs? Or should I say, non-beliefs?
PineClan does not believe in StarClan.
Despite their lack of faith, PineClan is not evil. Far from it, in fact. They are a clan of morals, and believe they can last without a belief in starry cats.
Because of their lack of faith, they do things slightly differently. Their ceremonies are changed so that they make promises to their clan, not StarClan. This is has caused them to be fiercely loyal to their clan, a trait that will keep them strong throughout the years to come.
But the other cats have different opinions. They believe in StarClan, and the idea that a clan does not has many different affects on them.
Some just don't care, and believe the PineClan will do well and should be left alone. Others think some sort of conversion is necessary. And others think that force will be needed to bring PineClan into "the light".
With the clans still settling, how will the believers go about with the nonbelievers? How will the original ForestClan cats act? And in the end, will the non-belief of PineClan tear the forest apart from the very roots that hold it?
