Foxpaw was currently doing what he did best, which was lolly-gagging around looking like the best thing in the world. Which, Foxpaw just loved to believe. He was lounging by the apprentice's den, supposed to be going with Elkstep to go train. Or something. He didn't really feel like training today, so he decided to make his own schedule. Meaning, hiding out somewhere so he wouldn't have to go and train. What a drag. No she-cats to flirt with(or annoy, whatever comes first), which was what Foxpaw lived for. Sure, he was a bit young to actually be interested in the opposite gender, but that didn't mean he couldn't annoy the badger dung out of them. Which was actually quite fun, as long as you knew how to and how not to get caught. This whole mischievous attitude had started when he'd seen Shrewstorm become who he was and still be a warrior. If Shrewstorm was apparently "irresponsible" and was able to be a warrior, then Foxpaw could be as much as a prankster as Shrewstorm was. The she-cat thing sort of came from having the mentor he had, Elkstep. But, his mentor pushed for him not to do the things he didn't to attain she-cats attentions who had "big rumps" whatever that meant. All he knew was that his mentor had an interest in Iceheart, but he still had some sort of connection to this Kate girl, though she was no where to be found. Foxpaw personally would have jumped off of the old relationship and into this new one. Who knew where this Kate cat even was. But, that was complicated. Somehow. From what Foxpaw knew, she-cats liked a tom if he was good-looking and had a great attitude. Well, he had both. Supposedly Elkstep didn't have both. So, he kept telling Foxpaw to not do what Elkstep did with she-cats. Which he assumed was shamelessly flirting. Sad part was that it was rather fun to do. At least to Foxpaw. He guessed Elkstep would stop that. He already scowled at him when he tried to act the way his mentor did. Which, in rec-respect, was a bit hypocritical, but, not that he cared. Foxpaw blinked a few times, getting distracted was a specialty of his. It was just that easy. Right. Back to escape route. He looked around, and headed for the dirt-place. The escape out of training would be easier than catching a bird. All he had to do was make sure no one was around to see him... "You've go this, Foxpaw, you've done this at least...once before," he said to himself, turning the corner. He didn't have high hopes of not being caught. Shrewstorm had to give the apprentice some credit: at least he was trying. Nothing was fun about training, all 'crouch like this' and 'smack them around like this'. It was a day wasted in absolute boredom.
He felt Foxpaw's pain, he really did. He wasn't sure how Elkstep trained him or how good he was as a mentor, but he was a little rough around the edges.
Shrewstorm wasn't going to take any chances.
"SO," he said and in a few long strides, he had caught up with the ginger tom. Side-to-side and... blocking the apprentice from view.
He was just that good. "Where ya' headed, pipsqueak?" Shrewstorm grinned at Foxpaw, a tad insane with a side of good ol' herb induced happiness.
Not that he did that sort of thing, really.
"You're not ditching Elkstep," he leaned closer, eyes gleaming. "Are you?"
Ah, conspiracy, you just gotta love it.

"Uh...hi...Shrewstorm." he said, trying to smile but it probably looked like he was going to up-chuck. Not that Shrewstorm would be the kind of cat to rat him out, but still. Being caught wasn't what he had in mind. Ditching was supposed to be more well thought out than this. Wait, how did he expect himself to be organized and well thought-out? Maybe he was sick. Eh. Well, either way, Foxpaw wasn't going to be forced into training today of all days. He wanted a break. And, no, he didn't care what the two-bit stuck up warrior's said about that. "No......Yes. It's just....I like him a lot, and he's a great mentor, but the whole 'train everyday' thing cuts into my me time." he said smoothly. Yes, the arrogant furball thought he could have his own free time. What Foxpaw did know that that just didn't happen. So, the only way to do that was to skip out. Faking sickness was a bit, y'know, fake. Besides, he was way more creative than that. It wasn't the fact that the training kind of got boring after a while, and no, it was not the fact he'd been at it less than 2 moons. Foxpaw may have a short attention span, but he knew the importance of becoming a warrior. It meant earning the title, and really deserving it. But then came a cold hard truth. That meant maturity. He thought back to Shrewstorm, and realized it didn't. Shrewstorm had been Cedarstar's own apprentice and look at him! Not to offend or anything, but he was exactly the most responsible. Which, responsibility was over-rated anyhow. And he had the perfect alibi to that if he ever got confronted on that by Cedarstar. And knowing the leader, if he ever heard that Foxpaw skipped out occasionally, well, he could just bring up his own former apprentice. While Foxpaw thought that he was one cool cat, he couldn't help but notice that Cedarstar might have expected his apprentice to turn out a bit better. Well, as much as he loved to stand around and chat. He had to be off. "Right, well, I'm just gonna go now....." he said, attempting to move around Shrewstorm.
