That's right, FoF is finally having it's first major plot
! Some of you might have heard some brief details about what will be happening to Fogclan very soon and here is the more detailed thread I promised to make. The information you need to know about the plot and the place where you audition for the semi-major roles. Most of the main roles have been chosen already, but there is still plenty to participate in, since the plot will effect the ENTIRE clan and, later, forest.
The Story
Mistpelt is the current Fogclan deputy and, unknown to most, she is very very religious. She believes that in order for a clan to be functional and get into Starclan, each and every one of them must be perfect believers and no cat should break the warrior code at any time. For this reason, she is deeply unhappy with Owlstar's leadership, as she believes Fogclan is too leinient and so are wallowing in sin.
A few moons ago, Mistpelt received a dream from Starclan that she took to mean that she was their Chosen One and that they want her to take over Fogclan and set it on the right path.
Mistpelt, of course, took this 'challenge' without a second thought. Immediately, she took to spreading the word of her visions to some of the strongest believers in the clan, Rowanheart and Volepelt. Both of them have joined her in her plight and are waiting to get further instructions from her.
- Mistpelt will gather more followers who are interested in a stricter, purer Fogclan. She will make Owlstar look bad.
- She will confront Owlstar, with the help of the clan, and oust her and become leader herself.
- Owlstar will leave with a small group of followers.
I'm gonna let what's gonna happen be a surprise, but here's some general notes you will need to know before we get to this area of the plot. More details will be released later.
- Miststar will become very strict about rulebreaking, firstly using public confessions as a punishment and later going onto more... brutal means.
- Non-Believers and doubters will be persecuted greatly for their beliefs.
- The training to be a warrior will become more brutal and higher amounts of training will be needed for them to become a warrior. Their training will also include teachings on being 'pure'.
- Miststar's reign will become progressively more brutal and violent.
- New rules will be made based on Mistpelt's disgression. Expect the warrior system to become very corrupted and for conditioning to be used which will pretty much brainwash kits and apprentices into the 'ideal warrior'.
- Eventually, Miststar will try and make the entire forest pure.
- Miststar's leadership will last some time. It will become the norm.
This should be a very interesting plot ^^ The warrior books never truely explored the theme of Starclan belief, or showed how the warriors system could become corrupted. This should be a VERY character building plot and it is highly reccommended you make a Fogclan cat to take part

Info: Do you want to rp with Mistpelt to see how your cat takes to her? Do you need evidence for a plot role you are applying for? RP here. This works a little differently to a normal RP thread, and is designed for short and sweet rps to help people get their heads in order. The things you should take note of:
- At the beginning of the reign, Mistpelt shows no signs of being violent or becoming violent until she announces a rule change. So, your cat should only be a tiny bit suspicious of her, if at all.
- There is currently no end to the plot planned. We are leaving it very open ended and so we will be basing how it ends on the situation. There is an event that will happen that signifies the beginning of the end of the plot, but no actual end XD
- Rebellion against the system is allowed and even encouraged if it is in character for your cat. However, be aware that there will be ABSOLUTELY NO organised resistance until we say so.
-If you rebel against the leader or any of her enforcers, be aware that you are putting your cat at risk of being physically hurt. Your cat should know that by the time we get to that side of the plot anyway. Most cats will have some doubts but will keep quiet for their own safety.
- Fogclan cats should mostly be believers and for this plot to work, we need to make sure that most cats grow to favour the system. Please don't rebel to rebel, and if you are sure your cat is gonna just not accept the leadership in any way, please notify us.
How can I get involved?
Most cats will be neither massively in favour (as in, ultra believing and following Miststar's every word) or against (rebelling or point blank refusing to believe). Some may have doubts or dislike the rules, but I should think that most will keep silent to save their own skins.
However, if you do have a cat who you believe will be a 'key player' in the plot, post here and let us know.

These are cats that are favoured by Mistpelt, who act as her confidants and enforce alot of her rules. They are highly respected and will become figures of fear and respect. They believe in Starclan HIGHLY, know how to keep in Mistpelt's favour and should have little wish to go against her. They will have a relatively large part in the plot, depending on how favoured they are with Mistpelt.
Feel free to apply to these spots, however you should at least rp with Mistpelt first and see whether Mistpelt favours your cat BEFORE suggesting being put on this list.

You may ask to have your cat placed on and removed from this list at any time in the plot. Your cat may become a follower gradually. Please do not put your cat on this list until you are absolutely sure they're a follower.

We haven't decided where they will go to yet, but they will be seen as the 'outcasts' and other clans will be warned to chase them off their territory. They will have a VERY hard life.
Only 10 cats maximum will be allowed to leave with her, as the majority should want to stay in Fogclan or will have no reason to leave. Be aware that we will NOT pick the maximum cats if we do not feel there is enough with valid reasons, as it is important to the plot that not many cats leave.

- Your cat may have to leave the clan temporarily or permanently.
They will be the outcasts of the clan, frowned upon and hated by all. Do not audition for this unless you know your cat is outspoken and hardy enough to bare this. Most rebellers will have to settle down or leave the clan in order to stay alive. If they try to perform organised resistance or rebellion, Miststar WILL hear about it and they will be squashed without question.
Again, feel free to ask to put on or withdraw your name from this list at any time. Most cats will initially be fine with Mistpelt, remember. Do not put your cats name on here unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure.

“ I remember seeing a very small outcrop, as if everything was downsized for my viewing...A fog lingered over the earth. Flowers sprung where the fog touched and life seemed well, but then...something fell from the sky and I soon saw that it was a feather and I heard the cry of an owl as it descended upon the ground. When it settled, the fog receded from it as if it were cursed. There the feather stayed, void of any life, while the flowers died around it. I thought the earth would simply die, but as I watched further and squinted through the darkness, an ghostly mist fell upon the feather and the feather blew away. It ended up getting caught in a pine tree. Then the fog mysteriously came back into the clearing, although it was dry, but with the mist, they moistened the ground and brought back the life, restoring it three fold. That was when I awoke.”
