Widening the community and advertising

FoF, until recently, has been a pretty self-contained site. The community has been limited to here, with a few members giving out their urls/users to other sites.

I think it's time to change that.

We could do so many many things. We could create a youtube for ads/amvs etc, a tumblr with site news and highlights, a twitter, a deviantart group to link members together. Ideas, anyone? There are so many possiblities.

I'm hoping some of these can be member organised :3 So if you'd like to help out, please say!

Also, if you guys haven't noticed already, most proboards advertise in one singular way: On other proboards. This is, to a degree, effective, because it advertises directly to the most probable member, the established roleplayer. However, this means that the site is only visable to a very small selection of people, and that only those who are on proboards often know we exist. Can anyone think of any non-traditional advertising means we could employ to make the site more visable to non-proboards users?

Tumblr might be a good idea. Lots of people access it and there are many different interests that roll around. If someone wanted to collaborate with me on it I'd be more than happy to help with it.

Woah. Not sure how I missed this before.

But anyway, I could start a dA group. Not entirely sure how, but I bet I could work it out, especially since Pyro is on dA too, so we could do that together if she's willing.

(I actually have given FoF's link to a few people on dA...not sure if anything's come of it.)

Wonderful It's great to get some interest in helping out It'll be nice to branch out, because I'm aware that roleplaying is lovely, but not always possible everyday. This way, people can get involved in other ways too

Pie, thankyou for volunteering :3 If no one else offers to help out, I can do so. Not a huge tumblrer, but it'd be sensible to have staff on the team anyway. Hopefully some other tumblr nut can help you out

Wonderful, Cloudie I thought that might appeal to you. You go right ahead. I don't know a huge amount about deviantart's group system, so I can't provide so much help, but perhaps you can run art contests and keep a fanfic archive? :3 It may be an idea to allow non-FoF members in too, and to allow all kinds of Warriors art, so it has enough contributers to keep going.

I think having 2 of these projects at once is more than enough, so for now I'd prefer it if we just launched the tumblr/dA groups. If you'd like to help out with something else, post here and we'll launch it when these two are up and running

I could get involved with the dA aspect as well. Not a total stalker of fan art.
