Name |
Gender | She-cat
Age | 23 Moons
Rank |
Clan | Meadowclan
Beliefs | Russetfoot has a strong disbelief in Starclan. Due to her parent's complete reliance in 'Higher Beings' she learned to see life in her own completely different way. In her eyes, Starclan is a bunch of hogwash that only fools believe in. She finds ' true believers ' in Starclan to be brainwashed, and cats that ' see and speak with the ancestors ' to be psychotic balls of fur. She will fight against others beliefs if it is brought up and pushed into her face- otherwise, she usually will hold her tongue, or only make slight remarks stating that she has a separate opinion. She does not mind cats that keep their silly belief's to themselves, but would be more than glad to claw some ears off in-your-face cats about their ' precious, all knowing ' Starclan.

Appearance | Solid brown colored she-cat with guarded hazel colored eyes- though her eyes seem more like a forest green in the sunlight. Her brown fur is quite short, and stays that way throughout the year. Her pelt can either seem nearly black, or a lighter brown color depending on the lighting. She is very thin and lengthy; which helps with her speed. She is about the average size for a she-cat, but maybe a bit smaller which gives her a very different, innocent appearance. Despite her appearance, she acts quite differently than she appears to. She also has a short bob tail, a trait she got from her mother, that helps her keep quieter while she hunts- but at the same time makes her balancing skills far under average, which keeps her climbing skill at a very scarce level.
Personality | Russetfoot is very blunt and guarded to the average cat. After the beginning of her life, she found herself too soft and changed for what she saw as better- safer for herself too. She used to be very kind, curious, and gullible. But after everything she ever trusted seemed to turn against her- she changed herself into a much more self-reliant and guarded she-cat.
Though she is still very kind when she sees another cat in desperate need, its still pretty rare to see her in a giving kind of mood. Its very rare for her to give another cat a compliment, unless she thinks that whatever they did was far above normal. She is very critical about pretty much everything, and loves to find faults or holes in other's logic.
Though she can seem cruel at times, she does have good intentions. She is very caring about those close to her, and would sacrifice her life for those that matter most in her heart, much like she tried to do for her brother. She gives her all in everything she does, and expects the same out of everyone else. If another cat disappoints her, it is nearly impossible to gain her respect back.
Russetfoot is a very realistic thinker; but tends to focus on the negative outcomes more than the positive ones. She tries her best for what is left in her life, which is pretty much only Meadowclan and herself. Without her parents or brother she had nothing to live for- but now that she has a clan that she may take care of, it is her goal to help them in any way she can- even if it means sacrificing her life for them during a battle for their home. But this leaves her to otherwise not caring to much about things, which often leads her to embarrassing or spiteful situations. Others might see her as a loner within their clan, which doesn't make her much of a friendly face- and her attitude doesn't help that first impression either.
Her fury often rears it's brutal head, and it takes her awhile to cool off. When angered, she makes many rash decisions, and has a very bad habit of taking it out on those she cares about. But she does apologize when she's done wrong- even if it takes her a while to realize how wrong she was.
She tries to be logical about her motives, but anger seems to be the only emotion that can overwrite any logical thought process she might have had. She is not the kind of cat to go looking for friends, or to even be intentionally making some for that matter. She does what she needs to do, for herself and for those that matter to her around her- and now her clan, which is a fact she's still getting used to.
Skills | Sense Russetfoot grew up mostly as a kittypet, her fighting skills are not the greatest. She can defend herself when necessary, but usually with only enough strength and skill until she can escape from her deadly enemy.
Russetfoot is a much better hunter than a fighter. With her thin, agile body, quick paws, and her short bobbed tail; she is in the perfect condition to hunt. She would often escape her home to hunt and escape from everything, and eventually made it her biggest strength.
She certainly gets herself into the biggest trouble with her words. There has been many occasions that her blunt, sarcastic, and sometimes flat out rude comments have landed her in rocky positions. But she is a very honest she-cat, and will admit to her wrongs, so that makes up for it sometimes- but not enough to give her a saintly reputation.
History | Russetfoot was originally born in a two leg household with her caring mother, Sky, her prideful father, Oak, and her newborn brother, Jay. At this time in her life, she was known as Faith. Her mother and father were very happy kittypets, and had a very strong belief in higher cat-like beings.
These Higher Beings, as explained to them by their parents, were cats that guided their lives and decided what had to be done and when. They weren't told reasons for what happened, but it was all as the Higher Beings planned- and there was no reason or choice to argue against them. They did what was best for you- and anything that came to you was for a reason that you might never even understand, but it was for the best. Weather it was better for you now, or for later- it was always for the best and was to be accepted.
They were all joyous kittypets; Sky and Oak had wonderful and healthy kits, their lifestyle was easy and full of adventure, while Russetfoot and Jay had playful and caring siblings. They were raised on their beliefs and that everything happened for a reason. Everything that happened was fate, and when the end finally came it was destined. Whatever the higher beings wanted, happened- they were always right and pure. Under this idea, and the easy kittypet lifestyle, they were happy.
But the joyful easy life didn't last long enough. Their owners had soon only become one owner, and he grew angrier toward what seemed like everything as time passed and the weather grew colder. Until one day, Sky was thrown down the stairs. Some of her ribs were broken, and she was badly bruised. It was a shock to all of them, and they prayed to the higher beings to help Sky return to perfect health.
Time passed, and things only started getting worse. Beatings had extended to all of them, and they only got more violent. The house became a torture chamber, and they were trapped under its iron door. Their owner began using crowbars, beer bottles, and even knives when he went into a fit of anger towards the cats. Oak had the most scars; with many healing cuts, a torn ear, and a permanent limp on one of his front paws.
Russetfoot had become a permanently fearful soul, and had learned to be quick about everything she did- otherwise it could mean her beating next. Her brother stayed by her side most of the time, and they did almost everything together. They were closer than most siblings, and confided in each other about everything. They often spoke about their owner, parents, and most of all- their own faith in the higher beings. Russetfoot was almost always the one to bring it up, and she couldn't let go of how wrong this whole world had become for them.
Jay would always try his best to understand his sister, but he was more faithful to the higher beings than she was. Their parents couldn't possibly be wrong, and if something happened, then it was the will of the higher beings. Faith always asked him continuously ' How can you still believe this is all for a reason? ' because her doubts were enormous compared to his. ' Because I have Faith. ' He would always mew, and throw in a small smile. He had her, and that's reason enough for him to believe things were alright. They cared for each other more than for themselves, so how could the higher beings love them less than they could?
They continued to carry out their lives, trying their best to avoid the violence and looming darkness that had become their lives. Russetfoot would often sneak away from the house and escape into the woods. It was only her temporary escape, because she knew she could never leave her family behind. She questioned her mother on leaving once, but she found the idea absurd, and backed herself up by pointing out that they would never survive in the wild. Russetfoot was distraught, they could barley survive here. How could the wild be any more brutal than this? But she kept silent, and only voiced any more concerns or ideas to Jay.
They took their lives day by day, but eventually they could hide no longer. Jay had run right into their owner, and he was in one of the worst moods they had seen in a long time. He was beaten endlessly, until finally the owner walked away and Russetfoot ran to his side. He looked worse than they had even been before, and the owner seems to be coming back. She asked how he felt, and if he was okay. All he had to say was that if it was his destiny to end it here, he had Faith. She became enraged, how could he still believe in a greater good in all this when he was obviously badly injured?!
The owner returned with his hunting knife, and she quickly launched on him as he reached for Jay. She fought as well as she could with her almost nonexistent fighting knowledge, but it wasn't enough. She was knocked away, and can only remember the sickeningly weak cry of her brother as her vision faded into blackness. When she awoke, the only thing she could sense was death. She raised her head, and felt her heart breaking as she saw the lifeless body of her brother. She tried to wake him, but his body was cold, and she knew there was nothing more she could do.
She ran to her parents, explained what had happened, and told them that they had to escape. Whatever the higher beings were planning, it wouldn't possibly involve them all being killed for the sake of their faith and easy life. Her parents wouldn't listen, and would only tell her to mourn, and that Jay meeting his death was only the will of the higher beings. She couldn't take it anymore; she snapped. Russetfoot let out every single bit of herself that she had been holding back. Her doubts, her fear, her ideas, and herself. Her parents were astounded, and Russetfoot couldnt believe that they were trying to calm her with talk of the damned 'Higher Beings'. She vowed to never believe in cats that ruthless and cruel, before dashing from the room as quickly as she could manage.
She couldn't take living like this anymore, she couldn't take staying here without her brother, she wouldn't do it. She left the house, turning only once to say goodbye to her brother's memories with her here. Then she ran into the forest without a doubt in her mind to escape for real this time. She cursed everything she'd ever known, and stripped herself of her name 'Faith' and renamed herself 'Auburn'. Faith was useless to her now.
She continued to run until her legs couldn't take it. She lived on her own, in her own way, however she desired. Eventually she came across the Ranch, and learned from some cats their about the clans, about their ways, and how they lived.
She took her time thinking, but decided to join them. If she could survive all she's known so far- she would be able to survive whatever she decided to lay in front of her. Not what some 'Higher Being' decided for her. She headed for Meadowclan, and her life soon began again as Russetfoot, Warrior of Meadowclan.
