We the People and Shenanigans.

So, I've decided to take my unofficial break from role playing and turn it into an official break until next Friday or so. In the upcoming week to week and a half, I will be incurring a large amount of make-up work. I'm taking three field trips, and all of them are full-day deals. They're gonna be awesome, though.

1. Supreme Court Live- An actual case is going to be argued in front of we undeserving high school students. Our state Supreme Court justices will be here and it's going to be exactly like it would be in the court building. Our government teacher says it's going to be an amazing opportunity for us, because, really, who gets to see a real Supreme Court case debated in person, ever?

2. Forensics Field Trip- It's the obligatory trip to the correctional center after a visit to some self-defense experts. Everybody gets to throw everybody else around.

3. We the People Competition- We the People is a Constitutional debate class, and our district competition is next Friday. Obviously, I'm doing a boatload of preparation for it. Last night I came home and all the work I did was for We the People, editing our statements. This is taking up a healthy majority of my time, and it's all I can do to get my homework for other classes completed.

You have no idea how difficult it is to write a statement, include everything you need to answer the questions (there's 3 to answer), make it sound intelligent, and then make it 4 minutes long. If it goes a second over, we're cut off. Anything shorter than 3:50 and it won't be scored. DDx

So yeah. Most of my attention is going to that at the moment and I just do not have the mental capacity to role play right now.
