B e l i e f s | Sparrowpaw's belief in Starclan is usually questioned, and with great reason, of course. Her devotion to praying usually ends up with her putting it off until later. And when she does this, nothing ever gets completed. Maybe the only reason she truly believes in Starclan is so that she can rest easy knowing her parents are above, watching over her. It gives her comfort and relief believing this. Sparrow believes her parents watch over her from afar, but sometimes wonders why Starclan never intervenes with disasters that they might have been able to resolve. Of course, there was a point in her life where she utterly despised Starclan, feeling hurt and betrayed. And this moment was when her parents died. Sparrow was torn and distraught, completely bent on the thought that Starclan had taken everything away from her. Over time, she began to realize the truth: that her parents were up there as well, and how could she hate her own parents?
P a r e n t s | Sparrowpaw was born under the wings of Swan and Raven, her mother and father. They lived together underneath the roof of an old barn, where her father hunted mice inside. This made sure the family had enough to eat. As of today, both of her parents are deceased. [NP]
S i b l i n g s | Sparrow's brother is Falcon, who currently lives as a loner. He lived with his sister and father for only a few moons after he turned 8 moons old. After that, Falcon left the Clan to live in "a place where there is no hunger. There is only peace." Avi is not sure whether or not he has truly found this paradise, but does not know of his current status. [PC]
O t h e r K i n | Sparrow has no knowledge of any Grandparents, cousins, or other such cats.
M a t e | Has no mate.
C r u s h | Has no crush.
K i t s | Has no kits.
M e n t o r / A p p r e n t i c e | Has no mentor, but wishes to be trained by the best.
D e s c r i p t i o n | Sparrowpaw is a black and chestnut brown tortoiseshell she-cat with two white paws on her hind legs that stretch up to her knees. Her long and beautiful fur resemble feathers, including her puffy tail. The deepness of her emerald eyes can capture any poor soul looking her way, and weak enough to succumb to their beauty. They sparkle under the Moonlight in an almost ghost-like way.
P e r s o n a l i t y | Sparrowpaw can be bright and cheerful at times, although she can be sullen at others. Her mood-swings can come rapidly at any time, making cats around her feel as though they have done something wrong when her mood suddenly changes. She doesn't mean to be this way, but has difficulty stopping. She fears that others would discriminate her because of her weak and frail side, so she fakes DID. Sparrow's timid behavior and frightened composure are completely switched around when she fakes her alter ego, Avi.
Sparrow was frightened that the Clan would think she was useless and an extra mouth to feed. The thought of this terrified her, so she created Avi. The brave, fearless, strong, and honorable apprentice.
Avi is the courageous, strong, yet bitter alter ego. She lashes out at other cats rather quickly, without any hesitation or second thought. She is rash and rude, but she does have a heart. Even though she can be irrational, she just wants what is best for her clan, no matter what she has to go through to get it.
Sparrowpaw is the more friendly, shy, weak, and sweet side. She is always willing to lend an ear to those who wish to rant, or a paw to those who need help. Sparrow dislikes it when others interrupt her, but wouldn't hurt a fly. There are times where she will switch immediately to Avi, especially during a fight. After all, she is quite useless if she's too afraid to fight (at least to her thoughts).
Sparrow hasn't told a single soul that she fakes her condition. Avi is just the alter ego of the cat she wishes she could be. The cat that would be worth-while to the Clan, and be able to actually take care of it. All Sparrow wants is to protect her Clan, and she feels that she cannot do that unless she is Avi.
S k i l l s | Sparrowpaw is quick and true, always able to dodge almost any attack. Even if she is hit during the fight, she can easily regain her composure and balance, dodging the next attack. She isn't much of a fighter, but is an excellent hunter. Her stealth and swift bites are the shadow of death to any unsuspecting prey.
Avi is the more fighter side of her. She is unafraid to fight, and sometimes will try to start her own fight. Being relentless, she will continue to fight until the last second of her breath, when all of her bones are broken and claws shattered. She can be brutal in a fight, but is honorable, meaning she would never attack an unsuspecting cat.
While Sparrow is an excellent hunter, she dislike running or walking long distances. A quick, easy, and fast hunting chase is nothing compared to a mile hike up a mountain. She normally whines and groans when she is asked to attend a Gathering, for she doesn't like taking the energy and time to walk up there. She doesn't have much stamina, so she can get tired after long periods of running.
H i s t o r y | Swan gave birth around midnight in the barn, waking Raven with a yowl. There were three kits: two boys and one girl. Sadly, the second born male died. The two assumed it had been from the scrape on her belly; and this scrape killed one of them. Swan wanted to name him before he passed on, giving him the name Corvus. He looked exactly like his father. Midnight, jet black.
The other two surviving kits were Falcon and Sparrow. The four lived together in the barn, and their father hunted the mice that lived in the cracks. As the moons went on, the prey became scarcer. Raven began to come home with almost nothing. The kits were starving, as was their Mom. Swan died of hunger when her kits were only 5 Moons old. Raven, despondent, took his kits and decided to try to find the Clan. He knew that only they could help save his kits, even if they did kill him.
On the way to the territory, Raven and the two kits were attacked by a band of Rogues. Raven took many slashes at them, but did not harm them. He partly did that so he didn't have to leave his kits' sides, for he knew that if he did, they would surely be attacked and killed by a sneaking Rogue. He was backed into a corner by the Rogues, his kits shivering underneath him. One of the Rogues jumped him, killing him with a swift bite to the neck. The two kits were now defenseless and vulnerable. Falcon and Sparrow mewled as a Rogue prepared to viciously leap on them when, suddenly, a cat tackled the Rogue out of the blue. Looking to their right, they saw a patrol attack the Rogues and defend the small kits. Scaring the Rogues off, they turned to the two small kits.
"What do we do? They're still young!" Sparrow could hear one of them whisper.
"What can we do? They're not exactly Clan-Born." one of them sneered.
"Silence. We will bring them to camp." A third voice rang out as they picked up the kits and brought them back to camp.
Being it the Warrior Code to rescue any kit in danger, they let the two stay in StreamClan until they were 6 Moons. After that, Falcon and Sparrow were prepared to leave when they were stopped by an Apprentice not much older than them. He offered to take them to the leader and ask for them to stay in StreamClan, to become one with the Clan. Having nowhere else to go, the two accepted and headed up to the Leader's Den.
After much testing through hunting and fighting, the two were made apprentices a week or so later. It was rough, having to do something they had never done before. Their father was always the provider, so having to fend for themselves wasn't exactly a walk in the park.
Only two Moons later, Falconpaw began to become fed up with taking care of the Clan.
"Curse this Clan. I'm tired of having to care for the elders! Fox-dung!" He cursed.
"Falconpaw! Shh!" Sparrowpaw hissed, "Not that type of language!" She scolded. Falconpaw only rolled his eyes.
"You sound like Mom." He growled, then his eyes turned to shock as he realized what he said. Avipaw's eyes grew cold and heartless.
"What's it to you?! You don't know anything, stupid mouse brain!" She cried out in pain.
"Avipaw, I'm sorry-,"
Sparrowpaw could feel her muscles tense in shock. A blanket of fright circled around her and caressed her in an uncomforting way. "Who are you calling Sparrow? I'm Avi!" She snarled. Sparrow saw her brother gulp in surprise, but his shock quickly faded into anger. He shook his head, "Well, sorry 'Avi,' but I'm leaving."
Those were his last words as he turned away to leave the camp. Sparrowpaw only stared in disgust as he walked away from the Clan who had sheltered them when their life crumbled to pieces.
