Yep Rolo came up with an entirely unique concept for a game
The concept is simple. Can we take a simple paragraph and turn it into a big pile of purple prose that still (vaguely) makes sense and maintains it's original meaning?
This is supposed to be a fun game that becomes progressively more ridiculous. Want to change the word green into 'Malachite' because it comes under "green" in the thesaurus? Go right ahead. I want you to abuse that thesaurus so hard it weeps. And wolf-speak? Use it so much that canines are embarrassed it's named after them.
Rules
1. You may make one addition per post, and 1 only.
2. No adding things that make no grammatical sense. Purple prose still makes sense!
3. You may only add, not subtract! Come on! More is less.
3. Try to keep the intended meaning of each sentence the same if possible.
4. If a sentence has too many describing words, add a new clause or leave it be.
5. Contribute as much as you like
6. BOLD the change you make!
Ways of contributing
All of these count as one contribution.
"The dog jumped over the rock"
~ Adding a sentence/clause/fragment - This must be simple and without describing words.
"The dog jumped over the rock, his ears alert"
~ Altering a word - Usually this will be a noun or adjective.
"The hound jumped over the rock"
~ Adding an adjective - As described.
"The hound jumped gracefully over the rock."
~ Sentence reformat - Must keep as much of the old text as possible
"Over the rock the dog jumped"
~ Changing turn of phrase
If in doubt, ask Rolo about it. She's not sure whether this will work.
Paragraph starter
The cat walked through the forest. He noticed that the night was dark and thought about how dangerous it was for kittypets tonight. However, he was a warrior and he felt no fear. He walked came to a river. It looked pretty in the moonlight, he admired it. It made him think of Starclan. Then, there was a sound in the trees behind him, making his ears twitch and eyes focus on the bush. He then saw a fox, which was red and looked feral. He was terrified, and he dashed away from the river, heart pounding.
