beliefs. Ratwhisker finds it awfully hard to believe in StarClan, despite the fact that death terrifies him. As a child, Ratwhisker was brought up to believe nothing happened after death. Constantly his father, Johnny, drilled into his head that a dead rogue was doomed to eternal darkness. That nothingness would haunted his nightmares, and often still does. His kitty-pet mother offered very little support when it came to Ratwhisker’s beliefs. In all fairness, Johnny had banned her from filling their children’s heads with useless dreams, but she would whisper about a kitty-heaven whenever he scared Ratwhisker too badly. His dreams of nothingness were replaced with lush forests, full bellies and soft beds.
But as Ratwhisker grew his father’s outlook started to seem more and more plausible. After a cold world, there was bound to be an equally cold death. So when he was introduced to Clan life, almost a fully grown cat with a pessimistic outlook, he rejected their beliefs vehemently. It was too much like his mother’s silly dream. After this quick rejection, Ratwhisker paid little attention to the squabbles of Clan cats. Their beliefs were stupid so naturally their arguments were as well.

appearance. Ratwhisker is a tall cat. He is not a large cat, simply tall and long. And he does himself no favors by almost always standing at his full height. He has thin shoulders that ride high on his body, yet standard sized limbs with round paws. His lengthy body ends in an equally lengthy and bushy tail. And a substantial neck holds up a rounded face. For a cat that is all sharp angles, Ratwhisker's faces is surprisingly soft. Besides the fact that his mouth is almost always pulled into a frown. 16.4 lbs, 10 in, tall, skinny
If one were to technically classify Ratwhisker's fur length it would be medium. Although longer than a short-haired, Ratwhisker's pelt does not rival, lets say, a Maine Coon. And as a rule it is shorter around his limbs and face, while thicker near his chest, shoulders and belly. Ratwhisker takes the time to keep it clean and un-matted, which happens quite easily due to it's length. A deep rooted vanity keeps Ratwhisker looking as good as he can mange all of the time. As for the color, Ratwhisker is a dark grey cat. This darker color lightens in places, giving him the appearance of being bleached. But this bleached look makes him look almost dusty. long-haired, well-kept, dark grey
personality. Ratwhisker, while not huge on paying attention to others, loves to be right in the thick of it. He lives for other’s attention and he isn’t too bothered with how he gets it. This makes him a horrible listener. Granted the fact that Ratwhisker seems to adore the sound of his own voice also makes him a horrible listener... But when he isn't the center of attention, he is doing whatever it takes to get there. Ratwhisker is also more than a little vain. He spends almost the same amount time trying to look good then actually helping his Clan. attention seeking, vain
Despite not being ForestClan-born, Ratwhisker has a major superiority complex. He believes that he is better than most of the cats that surround him on a daily basis. There is very little to back up this assumption. That does not stop Ratwhisker from acting on his feels. He frequently ignores cats he has deemed below him. Because of this, Ratwhisker finds it tough to believe that their are cats with authority over him. He has never taken orders very well, and he cannot respect cats in positions of authority. This lethal combination means that Ratwhisker is extremely unimpressed with the circulating rumors about favor being given to ForestClan cats. superiority complex, problems with authority
Tactless only just begins to describe Ratwhisker. He is incredibly blunt, and even more judgmental. Pairing that with him being very observant often leaves Ratwhisker without company. He's not entirely sure how to react when he offends somebody so he generally ignores them. He was never very good at apologizing so he has given it up all together. That is partly a productive of his laziness. Relationships take work and Ratwhisker doesn’t do work. If something is to hard to do, or to far out of his reach he probably wont try it. blunt, lazy, judgmental
Ratwhisker is always ready with an opinion or comment on almost anything. You don't even have to ask! But he tends to lean heavily on his sarcasm, which can be incredibly funny so long as you're not on the receiving end of it. He has a surprisingly sharp wit but the constant use of it can make him either your favorite or your least favorite cat to converse with. It just depends on if you really want a straight answer to that question you asked. snarky, sarcastic, quick to speak, amusing
Although rude, Ratwhisker has never truly found himself alone. There has always seemed to be one cat who has put up with his snark. If he ever found himself without someone to do that, he probably would not be able to build himself back up again. Ratwhisker other major fear is of inferiority, which was possibly caused by his father at a young age. This is only made worse by his constant laziness. He is often left worrying that he isn't going to amount to anything but then simply fails to do something about it. fears being alone, inferiority
skills. His long limbs ensure that Ratwhisker can travel fast. But added on to this, he has incredibly fast reflexes. Sometimes though, Ratwhisker has this horrible tendency to over think things. This becomes most noticeable when he is fighting. There is something about his life being on the line that makes Ratwhisker unbelievably flustered. His skinniness also grants him no favors. Fortunately, he has a much easier time giving over to his instincts when hunting. He knows how to stay light on his paws and stay downwind. and for someone so tall, he can be surprisingly short and low to the ground when need be. hunter, fast, not a fighter
Ratwhisker is a surprisingly effective leader. While he may not often step into that role, he is very good at keeping a level head, so long as his life is not threaten. In non-life threatening situations, he seems to fair well under pressure. Sometimes it is the push he needs to excel. Ratwhisker isn't, though, good at waiting for things. Patience is not one of his strong suites, and especially when he gets flustered or angry. impatient, good in a crisis
history. Patricia, long before Vincent was born, had convinced herself love was not for her. She had lived a sheltered kitty-pet life, a bed was always there for her and her belly was always full. The only horror in her life had been the loss of her only kit. A tiny tom sold to a different home as soon as he was weaned. But to say only glosses over the heart break the she-cat felt but sorrow consumed her. She began to stray further and further away from her home. It was during this time Patricia met Little Johnny, or just Johnny for short. Given any chance she would have gone back, ran away in fear as soon as she saw him. But she didn’t and instead he swept her off her feet. Having felt nothing but pain for years, the change was welcome at first. Little Johnny convinced Patricia to run away with him, and, still bitter, she did just that. But in a new environment, Patricia was terrified. The forest to her was the place of nightmares and horror stories. It was not the home for a kitty-pet. Johnny grew angry and tired with his new mate. He drifted more and more, leaving Patricia alone, growing old and remembering.
When Vincent was born his mother had been weak. Patricia found herself stuck in a relationship with a cat that she felt no love for, and slowly remembering the love she had for her taken child. He was born into a litter of two as the runt. But as the only tom, he was immediately loved by his mother. She named him Vincent, after her firstborn, and wasted all of her energy on him. His sister, Robin, struggled as a young kit because of this, but as they grew Vincent began to take her under his wing. While he was the bright light in his mother’s life, Robin was the bright light in his.
Patricia died of old age when Vincent was apprentice age. Johnny had left long before, and the family was happy to forget about him. Johnny had lost interest in his kits, who forced him to stay in one place. Johnny was never cut out for family life. But okay didn’t mean that the siblings were ready to take care of themselves. The first couple of moons were terrible on the Robin and Vincent. They struggled to stay safe and fed, all the while, stumbling across the countryside. It was perhaps a lucky chance of fate that, while stumbling, the pair ended up right in the middle of MeadowClan camp. Vincent had never been so relieved to see other cats. But Robin was weary of the Clan. Something about that many cats living together unsettled her and she didn’t want to stay long. That angered Vincent. All he wanted was to keep his sister sage, and, still a young cat, he went off in a huff to join the Clan. Robin never followed. Vincent, renamed Ratpaw, was devastated, but he never went in search off her. This new found safety kept him a firm part of MeadowClan.
