Appearance | Picture Aldernose is a grey tabby cat. He is not just one tone of grey though, but a mix of light and dark grey and even some patches of tan mixed in. His tabby stripes are a light black in colour and are softer than most, blending in with his coat. He has a long tail with raccoon like stripes, darker than the ones on his body. There is one stripe that starts at the tip of his tail and runs along the top of his tail until about the mid point. He has long legs that make him quick and a great climber. All the toes on his front legs are white, and on his back legs they go all the way up to his elbow. His chin, chest, and underbelly are white as well. Aldernose's eyes are a strange colour, most closely related to hazel. He is a tall cat, standing taller than most. There is one major default to this tom though, and that is that he was born without hearing in his left ear. This has made his other senses stronger.
Personality | This tom is a sweet-hearted cat that is kind to every cat. He is usually the one who cats go to with their problems, non-medical ones too. He is a great listener, but also a great talker. Well, at least in his eyes. There have been times where she-cats ask him to tell their kits a story, because they usually fall asleep quickly. He has been known to lecture a couple apprentices ears off, but it works, keeps them in line. There are two thing that will get Aldernose's claws come out, the worst is cats talking smack about Starclan. He will not stand by while others talk bad about them, and will get rather angry of he's in earshot of the bad-talkers. Even if it is his leader talking bad about them, he will fight back. The other is when cats talk about his deaf ear. He is very defensive about this flaw of his.
Skills | His other senses are stronger because of his deaf ear. He is skilled with herbs, as he has to be as medicine cat. He is thought to be the most knowledgeable of medicine cats. A fast runner and a skilled tree climber. His sweet personality helps him endure the hardships of being a medicine cat.
History | Born as one of two kits, Aldernose had a great upbringing even though his parents had originally come from Forestclan. His parents taught him how to be a gentleman and he treats everyone well. Him and his sister were both born with defects, him and his deaf ear, and her and her crooked tail. Crookedtail made fun of him for his ear, making him very defensive of it growing up. They were never close because of that, and he tried to avoid his sister at all costs. He also had to be careful of the jibes that got thrown at him because his parents were not clan born, even though him and his sister were both born in Meadowclan. His parents had come over when his mother was heavily pregnant with their two kits, leaving Forestclan for a reason that Aldernose doesn't even know to this day. He spent a lot of his time in the undergrowth, learning the different smells of herbs. He took interest in them at a young age, just as the old medicine cat took of him. As soon as he was an apprentice the medicine cat asked if he would like to become a medicine cat, and he jumped at the opportunity. He dove right into the job, learning the herbs with great skill and a quick memory.
When the old medicine cat pasted away and he earned his name Aldernose, his sister became greatly ill. He tried his best to save her, using everything that he had learned, to no avail. She passed away after a week of being gravely ill. This wounded the tom greatly, more so because they didn't have a good relationship. That night, he got his first message from Starclan. They gave him a dream of his sister dancing among the stars, happy and healthy. She thanked him for trying to save her, and asked him to forgive her for treating him badly. Crookedtail told her that she would always watch over him. From that night on his faith in Starclan grew, and he devoted his life to them.
Role Play Example |
The night dew settled over the sleeping land, settling on the coat of the single living thing still awake. As the winter mist drew in across the land, the tom cat moved forward into the night, disturbing the moisture that was beginning to freeze on the dead, shriveled grass. Pushing further into the undergrowth, Aldernose sniffed the air every few minutes. Cold winter air filled his nostrils, causing his body to shake against the fidget night air. Oh how he longed for the comfort of his warm nest in his closed off den, but he had a feeling that he needed to be searching for herbs tonight.
Looking up at the stars, he shook his head and smiled. "You pushed me out here, didn't you? Better be for a good reason." he muttered, shaking his head again. Starclan always seemed to be setting him in a new path every day, pushing him to show others that they were in fact there. It hurt this medicine cat dearly that others had forgotten about their ancestors, even after everything they had done for them. Scattering the thought, Aldernose went back to searching for his life saving medicine. But what was he looking for? Winter was a harsh season, killing everything in its path, including his herbs. Well, he could grab some more bramble twigs. The winter nights could be harsh and some cats had been coming to him because they couldn't sleep. He could always chew up some more for them, it took a long time to mash it up into the syrup that he was looking for.
His grey tabby head snapped back and forth, looking for the twigs that he wanted. Then, a small bush caught his eye. His hazel eyes grew wide and he blinked several times to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Juniper? Those leaves would help greatly with the cough that had been going around. He had begun to worry because he was running dangerously low on those leaves. They would also help with other respiratory infections that seemed to arise in the winter. He ran to the bush and inspected the leaves. They had just started to show the signs of decay, although it wasn't infecting most of the leaves. Aldernose grasped the leaves carefully, not wanting to break the delicate skin. He grabbed as many leaves as he could carry in his mouth. He trotted back to camp, glancing back up at the stars again. He smiled around the leaves, chuckling softly. 'Thank-you Starclan, this will save many lives this winter.'

Righty, we're prepared to accept Jaggedstripe as a medicine cat, but firstly we need you to change 2 things. I know you're probably fed up of hearing this, but Jagged is not an acceptable prefix. It MAY be used in renames but only if it goes with the second part of their name (Jaggedclaw, Jaggedtooth), and renames only occur for elders. Second, we'd really really appreciate it if you could make his parents either be Forestclanners or have come on the journey to fit with the Meadowclan Plot. It may also be an idea to visit that board and come up with your own ideas for how Jagged fits into the MC plot, because he's also going to be a target for criticism because of his rank.

Bleh, looks like I am just horrible with coming up with names XP I've thought long and hard about this one, I thought it would work because his stripes are jagged. BUTTT I changed him up I also altered his past a little bit to make it fit with the plot. When I first made him I knew where he stood in the whole plot, but I can alter it a bit to fit with his herritage, Yay! Thanks so much for accepting Jagged- er... Aldernose
