KONY 2012

Tonight i went through my normal routine. Checked Facebook, looked to see if anyone was online here, texted my boyfriend, and made some chocolate milk. But there was something that stopped that, and it was this one video. I saw more than just a few, but many people sharing it. They said things about ' a man needing to be brought to justice ' ' the children need to be saved ' and ' This means so much to me. Please watch. '. I was so curious, so confused. What could this possibly be about? KONY 2012? Politics? Thats strange, what do elections have to do with this? It sparked my interest, and i decided to watch it. I decided to watch this video right here. ( )

I never thought a simple video would make me want to run up to my principle and demand an assembly.

Firstly, i am seriously scared of most authority figures around my school. I know i do nothing wrong, but i can't help it. Secondly, demanding anything is not what i do. Lastly, me determined to do something? Willingly? HOLD UP.

But im serious. I want to spread the word about this. Watching all of those kids, adults, teenagers. Watching humanity rise up, all on their own, to fight for a cause that had never had any real hope in it. I could not believe they had gotten so far, accomplished so much, on their own. I was astounded, amazed, baffled, so so so many things.

When the video ended, i decided i had to do something. I had to tell people. I am not one to spread anything, to try to make people watch something, or to inform lots of people about much at all- not on my own. I was even fearful to meet everyone here at first, so imagine how scared i would be in real life of such high figures like the principle? XD Pretty. Damn. Scared.

Anyway, my point in all this being- If you guys could at least watch this and pay attention, it would mean a lot to me. If you could tell your friends about it, it would mean even more, but i wont make you do that. I hope you guys can take just half an hour out of your day to see this. If you can, thank you so much <3 I love you guys.

Actually, in regards to this, though I don't really know everything...I don't know that what is going on with this American uprising is entirely pure.

There have been things said that correlate with the idea that Kony is either dead (and has been for a while) and that all of this stuff happened YEARS ago, or he's fleed the country of Uganda and is now on the run, in which case us sending our troops to help train their military to find them is useless because their military cannot cross borders.

There are all sorts of flaws in all sides of the situation. I would just encourage, before you take any official stand on the matter, that you do in-depth research to try and separate the truths from the stretched truths.

It has been rumored that the company behind the video makes a massive profit and only donates and portion of it to the people of Uganda. So people in America are benefiting from all of this, whether it is true or not.

Well, my big thing about it is that people will now actually know. Nobody knew about any of this before, or at least a great majority didn't, and so its good that they do. I mean, i didn't have a complete understanding about this either.

If he is dead, or if he's on the run- then thats better. It means it can die down and no harm done. But If that was it- the president would know this or figure it out and not send any at all- but he had and the video was pretty recent. Put up 2 weeks or so ago recent.

Theres flaws in many situations, just like this one. But the fact that america is trying to do something, trying to make a difference, and might actually have done something is spectatular. It means that other things that matter could happen in the same way. The government did something because the citizens wanted it- not because of anything affecting America, but because it was right. This is a first, and i believe that it is a good thing. I appreciate you telling me though :3

I have heard this too, but i also heard that it wasn't true. Along with the fact that it was 'heard' in the first place makes me skeptical about it being true- what can i say, i don't trust rumors. Yes, america benefits in most positions they take part in somehow, they do that. But if it means that this can be stopped- i believe its worth it, even if we were losing instead.
