Well, as it is my plot, I shall be pleased to help you. |D
From what you say it sounds like he'd be a Neutral, which is fine and dandy. Cats don't have to take sides yet - we have plenty of supporters for each side and only one neutral so far, so he could easily be one.
But if you want some examples of roleplay in MeadowClan, I'd be pleased as punch to link you to some examples. What kind were you thinking of? Open roleplay, Clan meetings, or just any old thread?

I was actually just hoping to role-play him a little before-hand MeadowClan-style. But a Clan meeting would be most helpful to read!
Ummm.....I was thinking about him being neutral himself. So that could really work.

'MeadowClan-style.' This amuses me for some reason. XD The latest meeting (finished but technically still open) is Sinking Into Thin Air.Goodie. Apply for it on the plot thread and I'll make it official. And he's perfectly allowed to change position over time, of course.

If you're trying to get an idea of how his character will actually be, I would really suggest making an actual role play thread here. The pre-rp boards are meant not only to be fun, but to help people iron out the details of their characters. I used the pre-rp boards on v1 for this very thing. You should've seen Hawkheart's original form. First of all, she was a tom. Second of all, she was supposed to be like Simba. xDD The pre-rp threads fixed all that.
Also, as for your last concern, role play isn't supposed to go any particular "way" in MeadowClan. I guess I don't fully understand your concern. Just be true to your character, I suppose. You'll do very well, I'm sure. Just stick your character in there and go for it. c:
