Name | Squirrelpaw
Gender | Tom
Age | 16 Moons
Rank | Apprentice
Clan | FogClan
Beliefs | Squirrelpaw isn't one to voice his beliefs. Mostly because he doesn't agree with the cats among his Clan. FogClan is a fearsome bunch of cats and he's been forced to live with them. If had believed at any point, the belief had been pounded out of him by now; severely.
So, thought most cats think he does believe in StarClan, the truth of the matter is that he does not, in any way, to any degree. How could he? He was tortured, day in and day out, in the name of StarClan. He could never worship something that caused him so much physical and emotional pain.
He was a prisoner and his wardens were insane. That's the only thing that this tom believes with his entire heart at this point in his life.
Parents | Eaglestorm (Father; NP; Alive) and Larkstripe (Mother; NP; Deceased).
Siblings | Thornfoot (Brother; NP; Alive) and Kestrelheart (Sister; DC; Alive).
Other Kin | None.
Mate | Not yet.
Crush | Not yet.
Kits | Not yet.
Apprentice/Mentor | Not yet.
Appearance | Squirrelpaw is a tom of average-size, if not a bit longer than most. He has long legs and a long tail, but these features are not abnormal in length. He is only slightly taller than his sister, by no more than an inch, and he's just half an inch longer, due to the length of his tail. What he gain in length, however, he lacks in mass. He is not a muscular tom. No. He's more slender, more lanky, though capable.
He is a dark-furred tabby, his fur a mixture of mostly blacks and grays, with light hints of brown everywhere. The most brown can be found covering his mouth, where black tabby spots stand out quite easily among the rest of his striped pelt.
Due to his lanky build and his dark "squirrel-colored" fur, he is quite acceptable in the areas of hunting, stalking, running, and hiding. However, he isn't much of a fighter at all.
Squirrelpaw's eyes are bright hazel, or a light yellow. They are large and round, much like his sister's, and they are quite unmistakable.
Personality | This tom is not an aggressive cat. He doesn't do well in dealing with any type of confrontation. Squirrelpaw has a tender heart; he's very sensitive.
Most of the time, he's quiet and solitary, keeping to himself to avoid bothering others. He's wary of the majority of his Clan-mates and tends to keep his distance.
However, if you mean him no harm, you'll find a great friend in him.
Squirrelpaw is very kind and caring of others and, if he stands up for any cat, he is more than likely to stand up and fight for a cat that he considers a very close friend. His friends, they're worth something, where he is just another burden to those around him.
Squirrelpaw is a giver. He will give and give and expect nothing in return at all. It is a weakness as much as it is a strength and he's been that way since he was a kit, seeming to cling to both his mother's good nature and his kit-like innocence. He can almost be considered naive in this sense.
Despite his nature, he holds darkness in his heart. He can be very sarcastic and brooding at times, when in the right mood (though he does not speak these thoughts or give voice to his sarcastic remarks too loudly, unless in the company of cats he knows he can trust). It takes a lot jabbing, pushing, and criticizing to get him into one of these moods.
He despises his Clan and its policies, and his sister and wishes for nothing more than to be free of it all.
He has the ability to snap, and does so on occasions, but he has yet to snap entirely. Remarkably, he's still sane despite his hardships. He clings to hope desperately, if you give him any.
((This may be modified/better written later. But this is what I have so far. More in depth stuff will require character development, which I really can't do without tossing him into the role-plays. I hope he's okay!))
Skills | Squirrelpaw is a remarkable hunter, able to take down prey in even the most dire of conditions.
His fur and build allow him to be skilled at stalking, hiding, and running. He is also skilled in climbing and he is rather agile, capable of dodging and weaving whenever he needs to. Of course, no cat is perfect and he can often be found being rather clumsy in his attempts at "flying". He loves to run, jump, climb, and "fly". No flying squirrel is he, however. A hard lesson for him to learn.
Squirrelpaw, though he's great at dodging, isn't a fighter. He freezes up when confronted in any physical manner. This cat hates confrontation and is more likely to submit to his aggressor than stand up for himself.
History | Squirrelpaw, along with his sister and brother, was born within FogClan. Like all kits were, they were taught about StarClan at an early age. StarClan was pounded into their skulls before they could even think for themselves. So, it wasn't surprising that as they grew into apprentices, they too believed in StarClan with all of their being.
Of course, these cats had to grow up some time.
Kestrelheart, to her brother's dismay, held onto her misguided belief and strived within it. It suited her, he had to admit, but he pitied her above all else. Thornfoot, though he believed, had his own ideas of StarClan. At least he wasn't a robot. Squirrelpaw, on the other paw, was much different from either of his siblings.
He didn't believe in StarClan at all.
When they became apprentices, it didn't surprise him at all that both of his siblings thrived. Thornfoot was the only one of the three to become a warrior on time. He was grand, fit and strong and with undoubted abilities to serve his Clan. He was also smart enough to pass all of his tests. Kestrelheat, despite her efforts and injured pride, had to train for another moon before she gained her warrior name. Squirrelpaw; well, he was still an apprentice. Not that he cared.
He was used to it. Since the day he'd become an apprentice, he'd been doing nothing but letting every cat around him down.
That was fine. He'd resigned to believe that he'd never be anything more than a disappointment, anyway. He'd never even be mediocre. No. He was to walk this life as an apprentice. Or, at least if he didn't have any expectations of himself, there would be at least one cat he'd never disappoint.
