Beliefs | Shadepaw was bought up listening to the tales of the elders, and as such places his whole faith in Starclan and his warrior ancestors. He believes in reincarnation after death, or at least the ideals of karma: If he lives a good and true life, he will be rewarded at the end of it; If he strays from the ideals of the noble cats of Starclan, he shall be justly punished. His belief in reincarnation came from the tales of his parents when he was very young, he was held enraptured by their stories of how they would, when they died, come back as a cat, or another animal.

Appearance | Shadepaw is a grey and white tom, small but lean. His fur is grey with white tinges to his lips, paws, and underbelly but the markings that layer his body are black, striped and the pattern all the way down his body. There are tinges of brown across his body here and there and his pink nose is marked with a black stripe. His eyes are mixed between green, amber and emerald, giving them a pale effect but around the rims, the handsome tom has a emerald enticing appearance that gives it a hypnotic look. His pelt is short and well groomed and he has one white paw, with a small scar running across his shoulder blades, from his misadventures as a kit.
Personality | Shadepaw is intensely loyal to his clanmates, and cannot bear to see any cat, even one from another clan, in trouble of any kind. He is a fierce believer in the value of the warrior code, and this shapes his personality: He will not hear anything said against his warrior ancestors or his clanmates, and seeks to deal with confrontations and skirmishes calmly, using violence only as a last resort. He is sensitive to other problems of the other cats, and is an exceptional listener. If he cannot advise on their situation, he will continue to think on until he can. However, if somecat insults one of his clanmates, he is quick to come to their aid. When a cat is accused of an offence, he is one to listen to all sides of the story and come to a decision based on what he has heard- this gives him the reputation of being very fair.
Unfortunately, he has a habit of lapsing into his own thoughts very often, and is quite easily distracted. He's also susceptible to irritation, especially when he has not had enough sleep or something bad is said against one who he considers a friend. He also is quick to judge those of other clans, particularly those in Pineclan, who do not believe in Starclan at all. He just doesn't understand how any cat could NOT believe in the cats of the stars. However, once he gets to know a cat properly...
Skills | Shadepaw can hunt, not incredibly well as he is still being taught, but he's picking things up quickly. He also can track opponents well. He can, though to a limited dexterity, fight: His mentor Sparrowclaw is training him well.
History | Shadepaw was born Shade, to Nightscar and Frostblaze, two rogues. Before the weather worsened, he distinctly remembers the stories they told him: 'The tale of the cat who came back from the dead', and 'the tale of the cat who befriended a dog'. It was 'the Tale of the cat who came back from the dead' which stemmed his belief in reincarnation, reinforced by the elders' tales of cats who are sometimes given a second chance by Starclan. When the weather got harsh and the prey scarce, his parents feared for his life, so took him to Meadowclan, where they asked them to take their kit in. Preferring Rogue life to clan life, the two adults left back into the snow. To this day, Shade (who was named Shadekit, on account of his fur) does not know whether his parents are still alive, or whether they perished in the harsh weather of that winter. Shadekit settled in quickly- Mossclaw, who had just lost one of her own kits to that same harsh weather, took him under her wing and raised him, patiently. Being her only kit, he was soon up and about, exploring the camp he had come to call his own. He quickly made friends with his denmates, building firm friendships that would stay with him for years to come. He was the typical mischevious kit, badgering the warriors for news gained from patrols, and running his poor mother ragged, encouraged wholeheartedly by his denmates. This flair for mischief is also what earned him his characteristic scar: Determined to become a warrior when still a kit, he followed a patrol a little way out of camp; however, he got lost and was soon chasing around blindly, it was only when he heard his mother's cry that he rushed back toward the camp, failing to notice a patch of brambles which he got caught in. The deputy, Sparrowclaw, was forced to go into the brambles and get him out, and he was left slightly prickled and scarred. Finally, he hit the age of 5 and a half moons, and instead of causing mischief as usual, began to watch the other warriors, wondering which of the great cats would become his mentor, he was so excited, he could barely sit still!
