Time had past and many cats grew old or died through the rough times that had rested in their paths.
Many cats lives had gone in Meadowclan, many were born and many were in the making. Cats found love, cats lost love, cats lost life, the cycle went on in circular motions until finally it reached new-leaf.
Sparrowclaw was still reigning deputy after the ups and downs and Cedarstar was still leading despite the many lives he had lost, bond between them strong and powerful. Gingerstripe had been expecting her next litter of kits.
Shadepaw had become Shadebelly and the amount of times Sparrowclaw had watched him leave the camp was countless, he'd come back smelling of pine and fern yet Sparrowclaw didn't bother pestering her old apprentice. She would just let time take it's toll on him.
Sparrowclaw had a mate, but she wasn't letting anything like kitting get the best of her either. Not when it means having to pull out of her duties and let somebody take over until she was liable again.
Walking to the fresh kill pile and picking a plump squirrel, Shadebelly had walked in with Whitestream, Tawnyheart and Darkfur when she noticed a kittypet following between them. Twitching an ear, she turned and headed over towards them with a curious glance at the cat who stared up at her in dismay.
"Shadebelly, why do you have a kittypet with you?" she asked, tilting her head to the side and the coldness in her tone was hard to miss.
Shadebelly just shuffled slightly side to side before holding his old mentors gaze. "We found the kittypet patrolling the clan so we went to see what it wanted. It then demanded it wanted to be a clan cat, so we decided to let it come here." He replied coolly, calmly and held the older cats green gaze.
"I see." she meowed finally, watching Cedarstar walk over and stand beside her. The size difference between the two cats was hard to miss, Sparrowclaw being much smaller than the large tom. Listening to Shadebelly tell the story once more, Sparrowclaw's gaze shifted up to their leader and she awaited his decision.
"Kittypet, what is your name?" he meowed, eyeing them up and down.
"Name is Twilight." Twilight meowed, flattening her ears to her head and shuffling slightly looking rather intimidated. "I want to be a clan cat." Sparrowclaw's green eyes narrowed a little at Twilight's final sentence. "Clan cats isn't as easy as kittypets disdainful life." she retorted, silencing when Cedarstar moved his tail in a gesture saying silence.
"You'll have to prove to us if you're a worthy adversary to the code and to the clan." Cedarstars deep meow filled with a certain tone that Sparrowclaw couldn't quite pick out.
She looked towards the leader, eyes filled with confusion. This cat, Twilight, was a kittypet!? Why would he... She let out a sigh. After many moons of watching Cedarstar, she should by now know how to do this. Brushing her tongue over her white paw and cuffing her ear she nodded.
Cedarstar turned to leave and called the clan. "All those old enough to catch their prey, gather around" Sparrowclaw walked to stand next to her leader and watched everybody gather around.
"We have a new cat joining us today." He gestured with his tail for Twilight to walk towards him. Watching her do so, Sparrowclaw tilted her head. She was no bigger than an apprentice!
"From this moment on, you will be known as Ravenpaw
Listening to the meows coming from the crowd, chanting Ravenpaw's name, Sparrowclaw decided to join in and not seem like the odd one out.
"Whitestream, you will mentor Ravenpaw." Whitestream lowered her head and went to greet Ravenpaw.
Whitestream was a white she-cat with a kind attitude and really blue eyes.
Sparrowclaw was somewhat envious of the beautiful she-cat.
That was when another patrol came, but this patrol had two cats with them. Two that smelt of the exact same stuff Shadebelly had on his visits. Sparrowclaw knew who these two were and she knew what had happened.
Walking past the patrol and gazing towards the two cats, she narrowed her green eyes into slits. "Hawkstorm, Silverstream... What are you two doing here?"
