Well, not just the mafia. In my dream, pokemon actually existed in our world and so everyone had a pokemon and there were laws about it andandand. Way cooler and grittier than the series, in my opinion, so I'm going to talk about it. I can't remember everything, but. |D
1. You must register if you want a pokemon, so the system can keep a track of who is a trainer and who is not. This helps in cases of murder and/or other crimes, because humans are not the only ones who leave evidence behind.
In addition to keeping track of trainers and caught pokemon, it will also allow you to buy items such as pokeballs. Pokeballs specifically keep track of the pokemon , which further helps the Justice Department in solving crimes. It also keeps non-trainers from buying them and getting their hands on pokemon.
On the note of pokeballs, you can only have a certain amount of pokemon with you at a time. Six is still the limit.
2. There are AGE RESTRICTIONS. You must be at least 18 to register for a pokemon and have the needed education. 10 is far too young and at that time, no one has fully grasped the concept of danger or keeping care of a pokemon.
The Pokemon Safety & Care Community (PSCC) says that you while a pokemon can be your friend or a pet, they also have the ability to burn your entire house down or other unfortunate mishaps. A child does not have the qualifications to take care of a pokemon, no matter how small or powerless it may seem.
3. On the matter of education. You must go to school and get your PokeDiploma. As you know there are different types of pokemon and as such, they all have different needs and different kinds of handling.
For instance, a fire type is not the same as a water type and you do not handle and care for a fire type the same way you would a water type. There are hazards and No-Nos for each and every type. As for the specific pokemon themselves, a PokeDex is handy and a must have if you are going to have a pokemon.
The PokeDex are not just for recording and keeping track of all the pokemon you meet. They are also there for you to look back on if you forget what diet they have and other specifications of your pokemon.
For example, you are not going to feed a Growleth a basket of fruits. They are mostly carnivores. It needs a high protein diet. Admittedly, not everyone can go out and waste their hard earned cash on slabs of meat. However, there is not just one type of PokeFood. There are all kinds. Some are meant only for a certain type. Others are meant only for vegetarian pokemon. Etc.
4. BATTLING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. A Battle licence is not the same thing as your PokeDiploma. The PokeDiploma allows you to own a pokemon. Your B.C (battle card) is what allows you to battle your pokemon.
Again, BATTLING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. While the money you receive for winning is high, not everything is bunnies and rainbows.
Pokemon can die in battle from their wounds. There is gore. Sometimes a trainer is hurt. Because of the casualties and danger of battling, it is illegal to battle anywhere but in a PokeColosseum or PokeGym, where there are PokeCenters and other medical units standing by.
If you are to engage in battle outside a PokeColosseum or PokeGym, any pokemon you have on you are taken from you and you can be sued for assault or charged for Illegal Battling. This is not to be taken lightly. Pokemon and people alike have died in battling. We have these rules for a reason.
5. LEVELING UP YOUR POKEMON AND CATCHING NEW ONES is not as hard as you think, even with the area restrictions. There are specific places, such as Safaris and Reserves, that you can go to. These can be found in each and every zone. The world is full of them.
One of the Safaris doesn't have the pokemon you were looking for, or it's not challenging enough for you or your pokemon? Go to a different one then! There are different pokemon and levels for you to choose from in the world, so don't worry.
It is critical that you use the Safaris and the Reserves. There are medical units watching each and every trainer and wild pokemon they come across. This is to keep casualties low and the pokemon (caught and wild alike) alive.
6. OTHER PROFESSIONS such as Pokeology or PokeForce are available to you, if you have the needed training and education to pursue these.
There were other laws too, but I can't remember them at the moment. xD
SO RIGHT. THE MAFIA.
Let me tell you, they were some BAMFs. They were actually pretty terrifying, because they were in the real world and in the real world, the "evil pokemon factions" or the gameworld can't hold a candle to these guys.
Not to mention the serial killers, thieves, and other criminals who use pokemon for crime. >.> I won't go into details about that, because that's... just horrific.
ANYWAY. Enough about the mafia. xD In my dream, there were pokemon everywhere and it was so, so great. ;O; I literally cannot describe to you how amazing it was.
POKEMON IN SCHOOL? That's cool bro. POKEMON IN THE PARK? Awesome. POKEMON EVERYWHERE? I'M GOING TO CRY TEARS OF JOY.
I want to go back to sleep and never wake up again if it means having a pokemon of my own. ;O; I know in the anime and gameworld that pokemon are everywhere, but. Just take a moment and imagine this:
Where are you right now? Well, wherever that is, imagine your pokemon right next to you. This pokemon right here? Best friend. He is loyal and never judges you. He follows you everywhere. He protects you.
What's the texture of his skin/fur/scales? What's his personality? What kind of bond/relationship do you have with him? What are his quirks? What makes him who he is?
/siiiiiiigh
Nostalgia. ;O; I had a totodile named Jazz. He was the best.
DON'T MIND ME I'M JUST WEEPING IN A CORNER OVER HERE
